Need the best Pokemon GO Tapu Fini counters? Tapu Fini is the island deity of the final island you'll visit in the Alola region, Poni Island. Tapu Fini is a Water/Fairy-type, which is an interesting combination. This combo means it's weak to Electric, Grass, and Poison. Its Water-typing negates Fairy's vulnerability to Steel.

As for resistances, try not to use these types against Tapu Fini, as it resists them: Bug, Dark, Fighting, Fire, Ice, and Water. Additionally, it has an increased resistance to Dragon.

Pokemon GO Tapu Fini Counters

Tapu Fini is a fairly easy Raid boss, but don't underestimate it. To ensure a victory, bring the right counters, which include the following:

  • Mega Gengar (Lick/Shadow Claw | Sludge Bomb)
  • Mega Manectric (Thunder Fang | Wild Charge)
  • Zekrom (Charge Beam | Wild Charge)
  • Zarude (Vine Whip | Power Whip)
  • Electivire (Thunder Shock | Wild Charge)
  • Therian Thundurus (Volt Switch | Thunderbolt)
  • Tapu Bulu (Bullet Seed | Grass Knot)
  • Roserade (Sludge Bomb| Grass Knot)
  • Raikou (Thunder Shock | Wild Charge)
  • Magnezone (Spark | Wild Charge)
  • Tangrowth (Vine Whip | Power Whip)

Tapu Fini is not the best Pokemon for PvE, and it's not going to radically shake up the PvP meta. However, it's still a powerful Legendary that will do pretty well in the Ultra League, and it can find use elsewhere from time to time.

For both PvE and PvP, Tapu Fini will do well with Water Gun as a fast move. Hidden Power is subpar, so opt for the former in basically every situation.

As for charged moves, Tapu Fini has a handful of choices. Overall, Surf and Moonblast will be its best choices, especially in PvP. Ice Beam can make for an okay coverage move, but it still doesn't measure up to Moonblast or Surf. Tapu Fini also receives the Same-Type Attack Bonus for Surf and Moonblast.
