Fairy-type Pokemon are often cute and cuddly, but don't underestimate them, as these adorable Dragon-slayers can be some of the best Raid attackers in Pokemon GO.

If you're facing off against a Dark, Dragon, or Fighting-type Pokemon in a Raid Battle, it's a good idea to have some strong Fairy-type Pokemon on your team to counter them. Whether it's a Legendary like Xerneas or a fan-favourite like Gardevoir, there are quite a few options in the game.

What is the best Fairy-type Pokemon?

The best Fairy-type attacker in Pokemon GO right now is Gardevoir. This beloved Hoenn-region creature has an impressive Attack stat and also has access to the deadly STAB combination of Charm and Dazzling Gleam in its move pool. There's a reason so many Trainers love it!

What really makes Gardevoir stand out over Legendaries like Xerneas and Tapu Lele is its Mega Evolution, as Mega Gardevoir is without a doubt the top Fairy-type attacker in the game. It gets a massive Attack stat boost and will also bolster other Fairy-types on your team.

Here are the best Fairy-type attackers you can use in Pokemon GO as well as their optimal movesets:

You might notice that some Pokemon listed here don't have Fairy-type Fast Moves. While this would normally be a reason to remove them, their strength as Legendaries makes up for that downside - and there's always a chance they'll be given a Fairy-type Fast Move in the future.

I haven't included Mega Evolutions or Shadow Pokemon in the table above as there are long periods of time where they're simply not attainable, but generally, if you do have access to them, they'll be a better option. Specifically, Mega Gardevoir is the best Fairy-type in the game.

Most of these Pokemon work well against Team GO Rocket Grunts too. For example, if you know you're facing off against a Grunt that uses Dragon-type or Fighting-type Pokemon, you could use a team of three of the Fairy-types above to counter them.

If you're looking to take part in the GO Battle League instead of Raid Battles, it's a little harder to recommend Pokemon of specific types. Instead, check out our Great League, Ultra League, and Master League best teams.
