Pokemon GO's next season is officially called Shared Skies, and as the name suggests, Trainers will be looking to the sky to spot Pokemon like Mega Rayquaza and Necrozma.

With the World of Wonders season reaching its conclusion after three long months, it's time to prepare for what's coming next. Here's everything we know about Shared Skies so far, including the start date and some of the big events that will be featured.

Shared Skies season start & end date

Pokemon GO's Shared Skies season will begin on June 1, 2024, at 10AM local time and end on September 3, 2024, at 10AM local time.

Seasons usually begin and end on the first day of the month, but you'll notice Shared Skies actually finishes on the third day of the month. This is most likely because September 1 falls on a weekend.

Shared Skies trailer features Ultra Beasts

The first teaser trailer for Shared Skies didn't reveal much in the way of new content, but it did put a big focus on Ultra Beasts including Pheromosa, Kartana, Buzzwole, and Guzzlord, suggesting they'll have a big part to play in the new season.

Mega Rayquaza also appeared at the end of the trailer, so it seems safe to assume that this popular Pokemon will be returning to Mega Raids very soon. This is great news for anyone who didn't manage to get one during Pokemon Go Fest 2023.

What to expect from the new season

The biggest event of the new Shared Skies season will be Pokemon GO Fest 2024. There will be in-person events in Sendai, Madrid, and New York City, before a global event takes place from July 13 to July 14, 2024.

During this year's GO Fest event, Trainers will be able to battle Necrozma in Raids. This Legendary creature's arrival will also bring Fusion to the mobile game, with Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma being the first Pokemon that can be fused.

Marshadow will make its Pokemon GO debut during GO Fest, with ticket holders able to complete a Special Research story that leads to an encounter with the Mythical creature. There will also be the usual bonuses, themed spawns, and Raid Bosses to enjoy.

Several other event dates have been confirmed for the Shared Skies season:

  • June 9 (Community Day)
  • June 22 (Community Day Classic)
  • June 29 (Raid Day)
  • July 21 (Community Day)
  • July 27 (Unknown)
  • August 10-11 (Shadow Raid Weekend)
  • August 31 (Community Day)

We don't have full details for these events yet, but more information will no doubt be shared in the coming weeks. For now, mark them down in your calendars so you don't miss out!
