If you’re not sure how to evolve Eevee in Pokemon GO or you just need a quick reminder, here are all of the Eeveelutions and the various methods you can use to get them - as well as our thoughts on the best one.

The adorable Eevee continues to be one of the most beloved Pokemon of all time, partly because it’s so cute, and partly because it has the potential to evolve into so many different Eeveelutions with their own elemental types and attacks.

How to evolve Eevee in Pokemon GO

It only costs 25 Candy to evolve Eevee in Pokemon GO, but just like in the mainline Pokemon games, this furry friend can evolve into one of eight potential evolutions depending on how you interact with it - so it’s going to take you a while to get them all!

These Eeveelutions are Vaporeon (Water-type), Jolteon (Electric-type), Flareon (Fire-type), Espeon (Psychic-type), Umbreon (Dark-type), Leafeon (Grass-type), Glaceon (Ice-type), and Sylveon (Fairy-type).

You can use a special nickname trick to get each of these Eeveelutions, but that only works once. After this, you’ll need to know the specific method to get each evolution, which could be anything from using a Lure Module to earning Hearts together.

To get a Vaporeon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Rainer’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

Vaporeon is also one of three Eeveelutions you can get at random when evolving an Eevee without using a nickname or special evolution method, so that’s another way of getting one.

How to evolve Eevee into Jolteon

To get a Jolteon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Sparky’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

Jolteon is also one of three Eeveelutions you can get at random when evolving an Eevee without using a nickname or special evolution method, so there's a chance to get one that way.

How to evolve Eevee into Flareon

To get a Flareon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Pyro’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

Flareon is also one of three Eeveelutions you can get at random when evolving an Eevee without using a nickname or special evolution method, so you have a one-in-three chance of getting one this way.

How to evolve Eevee into Espeon

To get an Espeon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Sakura’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

An alternative method to get Espeon is to set an Eevee as your Buddy Pokemon and then walk 10km together. Once you’ve done this, hit ‘evolve’ during the day. You can tell if it’s day because the in-game sky will be light.

How to evolve Eevee into Umbreon

To get an Umbreon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Tamao’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

You can also get Umbreon by setting Eevee as your Buddy Pokemon and then walking 10km together. Once you’ve done this, hit ‘evolve’ during the night. You can tell if it’s night because the in-game sky will be dark.

How to evolve Eevee into Leafeon

To get a Leafeon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Linnea’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

An alternative method to get Leafeon is to place a Mossy Lure Module on a PokeStop and then hit evolve while you’re within range of it. This also works if another Trainer has placed a Mossy Lure Module on a PokeStop.

To get a Glaceon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Rea’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

An alternative method to get Glaceon is to place a Glacial Lure Module on a PokeStop and then hit evolve while you’re within range of it. This also works if another Trainer has placed a Glacial Lure Module on a PokeStop.

How to evolve Eevee into Sylveon

To get a Sylveon in Pokemon GO, you can use the nickname ‘Kira’ before evolving your Eevee with 25 Candy.

An alternative method to get Sylveon is to set your favourite Eevee as your Buddy Pokemon and then earn a total of 70 Hearts together. This is easily the most time-consuming Eeveelution, so be prepared for it to take a long time.

What is the best Eevee evolution in Pokemon GO?

One of the best Eevee evolutions in Pokemon GO is Umbreon. This is because the Dark-type creature is one of the only viable Eeveelutions in the Pokemon GO Battle League, where its huge bulk makes it a standout in the Great League.

If you prefer Raid Battles over PvP Battles, look towards Glaceon, which can be an excellent Ice-type attacker when powered up enough. Sylveon can also put in a decent effort as a Fairy-type attacker, although again, you’ll need to power it up quite a lot to make it useful.

On the flip side, if you’re not fussed about PvP Battles or Raid Battles, then simply go for your favourite Eeveelution - or try to collect 'em all!
