Zeus' Thunderbolt is the Mythic weapon to get your hands on in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, with the battle royale adding a whole host of new characters, locations, and powers based on ancient Greek mythology.

Zeus and his Thunderbolt are a big part of the game this season, so players will no doubt want to know how they can get the power of the King of the Gods. Here's how you can wield the Thunderbolt in Fortnite.

How to get the Thunderbolt of Zeus

There are two ways of acquiring the Thunderbolt: you can find it as a random loot drop, or you can get a guaranteed drop by defeating Zeus himself.

There is no real strategy for the first method, you just have to be very lucky. Explore the map, open chests, and defeat other players who may be holding it. You'll have more chance of finding one inside a Rare Chest as these contain higher-tier weapons and items.

The second method is more definite, but also a lot more difficult. You can get the Thunderbolt from the NPC boss Zeus, but that requires you to defeat Zeus in the first place. He can be found at the Mount Olympus POI, which as you can imagine is likely to be a popular spot.

If you're lucky, you might be one of many players trying to take him down, and you can team up before fighting over the Thunderbolt. Or, you might be there to see others take him down, and swoop in for the Thunderbolt yourself.

All that said, if you really want the Thunderbolt, you'll need to be prepared to face Zeus yourself. Land near his location on the map, stock up on weapons, and max out your shield before attacking him. Best to do this in a squad of four, where possible.

The Thunderbolt of Zeus is a Mythic power, basically a weapon that doesn't work like a normal weapon. With it equipped, you can take to the sky and throw down thunderbolts at your enemies for a massive pile of damage.

The Thunderbolt only has three charges with a cooldown between each one, so be wise about your shots. Time and place them correctly, and you could wipe out your opponents in no time.
