Whatever your vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll need plenty of Gold and XP if you’re going to level up and upgrade your equipment, so I’ve got some methods here that will have you rolling in both in no time.

While Gold will allow you to purchase an assortment of items, weapons, clothing and more in Dragon’s Dogma 2, XP is integral for levelling up your character so that they can face some of the most perilous feats the game has to offer.

How to get Gold fast in Dragon’s Dogma 2

There are several surefire ways of accumulating an enviable amount of Gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2, but these are the methods I’ve been using to bolster the coffers and fill my wallet.

Complete Quests

You’ll be completing plenty of quests during your time in Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, some quests have multiple ways of completing them so that you can maximise your rewards. For example, the Hunt for the Jadeite Orb quest has multiple ways of completing it.

However, if you take a bit of time and go out of your way, you can get even more Gold than you were initially promised. While not every quest is like this one, there are certainly others that will deliver a huge amount of Gold, including the Saint of the Slums quest and the Readvent of Calamity.

Selling Items

Of course, an easy way to make some quick cash is to sell, sell, sell. Along the way, you’ll be picking up everything, from Golden Trove Beetles to Bunches of Flowers.

So, to save yourself from becoming over-encumbered, why not get a bit of extra gold out of them? Especially the upgrade materials from killing monsters, as you’ll be able to get plenty of them if you spend a bit of time grinding out the encounters.

Loot Everything

See a chest in the distance? Loot it. Killed some goblins that were dancing around a campfire? Loot them. Found some piles of wood or bones? That’s right, loot them.

Looting anything yields the potential for plenty of Gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and sometimes the Gold is just out in the open and begging to be looted, so it would be rude not to.

Complete Monster Culling Missions

Early on, after speaking with Captain Brant in Vernworth, you’ll be given the option to embark on Monster Culling encounters throughout the world. These happen more frequently than you might think and will simply require you to save some travellers from the attacking monsters.

In doing so, you’ll be rewarded handsomely with huge amounts of Gold and, of course, some extra XP for saving someone and killing the monsters. Not a bad deal, I reckon.

How to get XP fast in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Your best bet for farming XP in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is through enemy encounters. Big or small, taking on a group of enemies will reward you with an ample amount of XP. With Goblins and Harpies around every corner, the XP soon racks up.

However, if you’re looking to risk life and limb (quite literally) to level up, then you’re going to want to take on some of the larger enemies that yield significantly more XP. So, if you spot a sleeping Cyclops or a Griffin overhead, don’t be afraid to bring them to heel.

I’ve found that playing as an Archer and chipping away at enemies while your Pawns set to task with close-combat attacks whittled them down pretty quickly.

But, if combat isn’t your forte per se, then there’s always completing the aforementioned quests that will also yield you a large chunk of XP for your efforts.

That’s everything you need to know about getting your hands on plenty of Gold and XP in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
