We’ve all been there - sometimes you find yourself carrying a little too much, and Dragon’s Dogma 2 is no exception but thankfully there are a few things you can do, including using Golden Trove Beetles, to combat this issue.

It can be hard to resist not picking every single berry or slab of meat in the game, but doing so can over-encumber you, so having some solutions to that problem is bound to be helpful for you and your Pawns.

How to increase carry weight

There are several ways to increase your carry weight in Dragon’s Dogma 2, from using rings that will make you stronger, to consuming Golden Trove Beetles - the latter being the more reliable option.

By consuming a Golden Trove Beetle, you’ll gain 0.15kg of carry weight, so be sure to eat as many as you can to keep up. You can see your encumberment on the left of the Items menu as shown in the image below.

Additionally, if you find that your pockets are full to bursting with stuff, you can also give it to your fellow Pawns to hold. Just remember, if you lose them, you lose your items too, so be sure to take good care of them out there.

Your character's size and build also affect your carry weight, with taller and bigger builds being able to hold more without reaching the 'Heavy' stage. You can always change your appearance later on if this is something you want to shift to, but I found that having your Pawn be beefy was very handy when travelling the open world.

Where to find Golden Trove Beetles

Golden Trove Beetles can be found in an assortment of locations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, including on trees (like the beetles in Animal Crossing) or on the ground, as shown in the image below.

During my adventuring, I even found one being pecked at by harpies. If you see that happening, be sure to make fast work of them to claim your prize. Your need is greater than theirs after all!
