Kaeya's abilities make him a Sub DPS unit who can work best as an off-screen Support. His Elemental Skill, Frostgnaw, unleashes a frigid blast, dealing Cryo DMG to opponents who are in front. You can use this skill to inflict decent damage at once. Or make an Ice Bridge to traverse through water bodies for which Kaeya is known. When you use his Elemental Burst, Glacial Waltz, three icicles are summoned that revolve around him, dealing Cryo DMG to the opponents that come in contact.

The Glacial Waltz attack is used to deal sustained damage for a few seconds. The attack stays active even when Kaeya is not in the field. Thanks to that, players can use it with Hydro users to Freeze opponents. Or, use the attack with Pyro to deal Melt DMG, which currently has the highest DMG multiplier - when it comes to Elemental Reaction DMG in Genshin Impact.

Best Genshin Impact Kaeya Build: Constellations

Like any other unit in Genshin Impact, Kaeya has six Constellations that players can unlock by getting a duplicate copy of him. Since Kaeya is a four-star unit, you can get him while rolling on any of the two character banners. Also, you get a free copy of Kaeya when you complete Genshin Impact's Prologue.

Here are all six Constellations of Kaeya:

  • C1 - Excellent Blood: The CRIT Rate of Kaeya's Normal and Charge Attacks against opponents affected by Cryo is increased by 15%.
  • C2 - Never-Ending Performance: Every time Glacial Waltz defeats an opponent during its duration, its duration is increased by 2.5s, up to a maximum of 15s.
  • C3 - Dance of Frost: Increases the Level of Frostgnaw by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • C4 - Frozen Kiss: Triggers automatically when Kaeya's HP falls below 20%: Creates a shield that absorbs damage equal to 30% of Kaeya's Max HP. Lasts for 20s. This shield absorbs Cryo DMG with 250% efficiency. Can only occur once every 60s.
  • C5 - Frostbiting Embrace: Increases the Level of Glacial Waltz by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
  • C6 - Glacial Whirlwind: Glacial Waltz will generate 1 additional icicle, and will regenerate 15 Energy when cast.

Kaeya's Constellations are great, and they help increase the overall DMG and Support efficiency of his abilities. However, they are not game-changing. Some characters like the Raiden Shogun, aka Baal, and others have Constellations that contribute a lot to their abilities. But in the case of Kaeya, Constellations are generic - they definitely increase Kaeya's potential - but not to that amount that we can recommend you to perform wishes to get other Constellations for Kaeya.

Best Genshin Impact Kaeya Build: Sub DPS And Support

Kaeya is a Sub-DPS unit in Genshin Impact that you can use as an off-field Support. To deal big damage with Kaeya, you can combine his attacks with the Pyro element to trigger Melt reaction. Below you can find some of the best weapons and artifacts that you can use on Kaeya to get most out of him.

Best Weapons For Kaeya

There is no particular weapon that completely works with Kaeya's kit. The best weapon for Kaeya depends on how you are using him. If you want to use Kaeya as an off-field DPS Support while triggering Elemental Reactions, the four-star sword, Iron Sting, is the best sword in that case.

It increases Kaeya's Elemental Mastery that scales Elemental Reaction DMG. If you want to use Kaeya as a Sub-DPS and don't bother much about Elemental Reactions, the battle pass weapon, Black Sword, or the five-star sword, Skyward Blade, are two of the best choices for Kaeya.

Best Artifacts For Kaeya

Kaeya is a Cryo element user whose Elemental Skill, Frostgnaw, and Elemental Burst, Glacial Waltz, deal Cryo DMG, which we can maximize by using the Blizzard Strayer artifact set. Equipping four pieces of the Blizzard Strayer grants a 15% Cryo DMG bonus while increasing CRIT Rate by a whopping 20%.

  • 2-Piece Bonus: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-Piece Bonus: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, the CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.
