There's A YouTube Channel Dedicated To Scenic Skyrim Hikes

One Skyrim fan has created an entire YouTube channel that's simply dedicated to scenic hikes around Tamriel and taking in Bethesda's scenery.

We'll admit it. Sometimes, games are too focused on violence and tearing through the main campaign to really appreciate what's going on around you. When did you last bask in the hues of Rapture's underwater dystopia instead of butchering Splicers in BioShock? When did you stop to appreciate Lady Dimitrescu's antiques instead of running away from her in Resident Evil Village

Considering so much work goes into creating these rich backdrops, it's a shame we get caught up in the hack and slash of your average adventure game instead of enjoying their sometimes picturesque vistas. One of the best examples of this is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which keeps us busy butchering Werebears instead of breathing in our surroundings.

What Is The Scenic Skyrim Channel?

Over on YouTube, adventure_pippin has a whole channel dedicated to relaxing hikes around Tamriel. When you want to take a break from trying to best Alduin, or Nazeem has really done your head in, why not take a trek through the Rift in the Mist? Suddenly, everything feels a little more zen.

In these virtual hikes, the Dragonborn wanders around various Skyrim POIs and occasionally pauses to let you enjoy some of the hard work all those artists put into making this version of Tamriel what it is today - even if it's over a decade old.

Although the channel is relatively new, we've already toured popular locales like the Forgotten Vale, Blackreach, and Lake Ilinata. Better yet, the videos are set to Jeremy Soule's soothing Skyrim soundtrack. They currently only have 205 subscribers but expect that to climb quickly in this age of ASMR and unusual channels going viral.

What Do We Know About The Elder Scrolls 6?

While the channel reminds us how beautiful Skyrim is, it also has us looking ahead at The Elder Scrolls 6. Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda means The Elder Scrolls 6 will launch as an Xbox exclusive, but we're already warned it's a long way off.

You're average Skyrim run is modded to the heavens, meaning you can make adventure_pippin's scenic hikes look even better. We're sure The Elder Scrolls 6 will look even better and have a much bigger world to explore if you fancy yourself as something of a rambler. Either way, consider us hooked as this peaceful channel ticks more locations off its map.
