If there's one thing the Grand Theft Auto community loves, it's a good leak. Whether it was the sketchy Project Americas leak that took over Reddit, ransomware attacks revealing major GTA 6 spoilers, or the game's trailer being leaked early, Rockstar Games can't seem to keep a lid on its inner workings.

While the acclaimed studio is notorious for keeping a lock and key on its upcoming games, this supposedly airtight security only makes leakers more determined to break inside. We saw it with Red Dead Redemption 2, and we're seeing it with GTA 6. However, did we miss a major leak from over a decade ago?

Sam Houser might've leaked GTA 6 in 2013

A supposed internal document from Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser is doing the rounds again. The GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit points to a YouTube video from GTA Expert, which came out three years ago. We were a lot more sceptical of leaks back then, but with GTA 6 going back to Vice City, we're looking with a fresh set of eyes.

The 2013 document was apparently penned by Sam Houser, containing details on canned single-player GTA V DLCs, plans for Red Dead Redemption 2, more from Bully, and far-off ideas for GTA 6. There's a mention of "Miami, what's new?" suggesting that Rockstar was looking at a modernised Vice City 11 years ago.

Other bits should be taken with a pinch of salt, including lines about a 1970s Vegas casino, a snowy Chicago/Detroit-inspired locale, and Mexico City. We know the GTA 6 map is bigger than ever, and while we're unconvinced all of these locations will be in the game, we've heard a lot about multiple cities.

Take all things GTA 6 with a pinch of salt

Bearing in mind that GTA V was only released in 2013, it's baffling to think that GTA 6 could've already been in Houser's crosshairs. We know studios like to think ahead, but this is some serious foresight.

If real, the leak is full of some tantalising teases of what will never be. We've heard about plans for multiple GTA V DLCs being cut, and adding fuel to the fire that the Houser leak is real, former dev Obbe Vermeij has been spilling secrets.

It's perfectly possible that Houser let the cat out of the bag in 2013, and with Vice City just over the horizon, it could be time to go back and comb through the old leaks to see what else was on the money. Then again, we've burned before, and this wouldn't be the first time faux GTA leaks have made us look like mugs.
