It's Vice City, but not as you know it. The future of Grand Theft Auto is just over the horizon (well, in 2025), and while GTA V became a record-breaking success in 2013, it already looks like GTA 6 is going to overtake it. Rockstar Games has made billions over the last decade, and by the looks of it, it's been spending it on GTA 6.

Although GTA 6 skipped out on The Game Awards, we got our first look at the next generation of GTA earlier in the week. Considering we've had years of leaks and rumours, we had to act surprised when the trailer revealed Lucia as the female protagonist and confirmed a return to the beloved Vice City.

GTA 6 fans have already built the Vice City map

It's been 21 years since we first stepped into the neon-splashed Vice City in real life, but in the world of GTA, it's been decades since we left Tommy Vercetti's story behind. While there's still the same pastel colour palette, it's clear a lot has changed in Vice City.

Even though we've only had a glimpse of this revamped city, eagle-eyed players have already been piecing together the GTA 6 map. Thanks to the deluge of leaks, some were doing this before the trailer dropped. Now that we've got an official look at GTA 6, the map builders have been well-fed.

The GTA 6 mapping Discord has been busy, and over on the GTA 6 Reddit, u/FluidAd6587 shared the latest build. Despite some large areas still being unmapped, players have been slowly filling in the GTA 6 map. From roads to railway lines, we're getting a clearer picture of GTA 6's jaw-dropping scale.

Even though elements like the Leonida State Prison where Lucia is incarcerated and Gator Keys are speculatory at the moment, it's an impressive project considering we know so little. Still, it shows just how big Vice City should be this time around.

Vice City could just be part of the GTA 6 map

Although Rockstar is yet to confirm it, swirling rumours have claimed we'll be able to visit multiple cities...or even multiple continents. This is backed up by the existence of the Vice City International airport, although whether multiple locales will be part of the main game or saved for money-making DLCs remains to be seen.

The idea of a second map has split fans, with one writing,"With the scale of vice city now clear from trailer, this already shows how massive this map is. To the point where not having a second city would be disjointing and dare I say not having a third yet smaller city as well."

Another added, "Holy sh*t, so this basically confirms that Vice City alone is 70-80% the size of the entire GTA 5 map," and a third said, "I'm not holding my breath on a second city the size of vice city, but i do think there will be a lot of towns out in the sticks to f**k around in."

We know it's a little cliche to say bigger is better, but with Rockstar cooking away on GTA 6 for years, and it being 12 years between games by the time it finally releases, we'd say we've earned a much grander affair. With GTA 6 still a way out, at least the map builders can take their time.
