Ludwig "Ludwig" Ahgren was devastated to learn that 100 hours worth of his Elden Ring stream has been lost forever after it was permanently removed from YouTube. The news was particularly gutting for the YouTuber as it was "his most viewed video ever."

Popular YouTuber Ludwig was one of the many famous faces in the streaming community who have flooded their channels with Elden Ring-related content, following the fantasy RPG's highly-anticipated release on February 25. To celebrate, Ludwig did his very own livestream of Elden Ring, vowing not to stop until he defeated the game. The 26-year-old is certainly used to long hours in front of the camera, but it was nonetheless a gruelling four days.

However, any Ludwig fans hoping to catch up with the stream are in for some bad luck because the YouTuber has claimed that the vast majority of his Elden Ring playthrough has been lost for good.

Why Was Ludwig's Elden Ring Playthrough Deleted By YouTube?

Ludwig was overjoyed when on February 28 he defeated Elden Ring's final boss, meaning he could finally bring his four-day-long stream to an end. However, fans who were hoping to catch a glimpse of the livestream following its conclusion, would have had a difficult task on hand as the stream's VOD was nowhere to be found.

Then, on March 1, Ludwig uploaded a video called 'YouTube Failed Me' to his second YouTube channel Mogul Mail in which he explained all. In the clip, Ludwig claimed that YouTubers can stream for however many hours they like, but if the VOD recording the stream goes beyond 12 hours, then it is deleted by the platform. As Ludwig's Elden Ring livestream VOD ran in at 102 hours, "none of it was saved."

Explaining why he has no other recordings of the stream, Ludwig said: "My local recording failed. So the only VOD I have of my run is the very beginning and the last boss." The YouTuber continued: "All the middle is gone. Forever. It's kind of a bummer. It's just a little bit of a bummer. You just find some kinks in the switch every few weeks."

Is There Any Way Ludwig Could Find His Elden Ring Livestream?

Sadly, Ludwig doesn't have any recordings of his Elden Ring livestream of his own. However, he did appeal to his fans who might have some saved copies. In the plea, Ludwig said: "This is a call, if anyone out there has any of the VOD and wouldn't mind, give me some clips, full length whatever it is. I'll take anything if you want to shoot it over to me like in a Google Drive link or DM me on Twitter. To anyone who's excited to watch it, I'll try my best to piece it together. Hopefully, we can recover it."

This certainly isn't the first time that Ludwig has had problems with YouTube following his move to the platform. However, he was quick to say that he didn't blame YouTube for the blunder. Rather he was a "bit of dumb a*s" about it. Although, he was still keen to retrieve any footage from the stream, which he claimed was his "most viewed video ever" pulling in over 4 million views.
