Whether you like it or not, it looks like Palworld is here to stay...for now. Pocket Pair's open-world survival game has stepped out of the shadow of Pokemon and is determined to carve its own legacy - which is probably wise if it wants to avoid Nintendo's circling legal eagles.

One thing Palworld has going for it that Pokemon doesn't (unless you emulate) is mods. While Pokemon mods have been pulled before they ever had a chance to become popular, we've already seen digital enhancements, Digimon mods, and the obvious cheat menus.

First-person Palworld goes full Call of Duty

Like Fortnite, The Last of Us, and God of War, Palworld is locked in a third-person perspective, and with character creation being a personal part of the game, it makes sense that you want to show off your player. If you want to get up close and personal with Palworld, first-person mods are here.

Modder Cristiferbeast has been showing off his first-person Palworld mod on Nexus Mods, and although it was only released on February 4, it's already growing in popularity as a work in progress. As the description says, this is, "A Simple Mod which allows First Person Perspective, bound to the Alt + C Keys."

Remembering the whole 'Pokemon with guns' mantra, putting Palworld in first-person feels a lot like an animalistic Call of Duty. Putting Penking and Mammorest in your crosshairs, a first-person Palworld mod feels like a very different game.

In his latest video, Cristiferbeast explains the various bug fixes, showing that he's trying to get the mod working as well as it can. The FPS genre is still booming, and giving us the ability to catch monsters while gunning down enemies is a big win.

Could Palword get official first-person support?

Of course, it's possible that Pocket Pair will get rid of the hassle and simply add a first-person option. The devs have already promised an impressive roadmap, although there aren't any exact dates right now. We know the team is prioritising anti-cheat, and then we hope PvP could be next on the list.

Steam and Xbox crossplay, server transfers, and new islands to explore are also mentioned on the roadmap, but there's no sign of first-person. At the end of the day, it's not the most important thing to prioritise, and if we were Pocket Pair, we'd be more worried about the entire game being slapped with a cease and desist.
