MMO pro Zack "Asmongold" surprised his fans when he announced that he was 'quitting' Elden Ring after experiencing various issues with the game.

It's a busy time for Twitch streamer Asmongold as fantasy games Lost Ark and Elden Ring were both released within weeks of one another. The hype surrounding Lost Ark's release in Western continents even prompted him to return to his main Twitch channel. Although, he was a little horrified after he found out how long it could take for him to complete the game. Now, he's jumped on the Elden Ring bandwagon and begun streaming his journey through the Lands Between.

Despite initially being a fan of the game, fans were surprised to see Asmongold lose his rag with Elden Ring, so much so that he threatened to 'quit' the game.

When And Why Did Asmongold 'Quit' Elden Ring?

In a YouTube clip posted on February 28, Asmongold posted a clip from his latest stream titled 'Asmongold Quits Elden Ring.' The clip showed the streamer's progression throughout the lengthy stream, where he started off very excited to get going with the game. However, as the day progressed, Asmongold's frustration with Elden Ring's difficulty clearly got too much for him.

Looking exhausted from a long and tough day of playing Elden Ring, Asmongold claimed: "Honestly I might just stop playing this game [...] it's just so exhausting, I never know where to go, I don't know what's going on. I can't figure out what to do." He further claimed that the RPG leaves him "frustrated" and that he feels "constantly lost."

However, Asmongold was quick to relinquish the blame from Elden Ring, saying "it's not the game's fault, it's my fault [...] because I have a really hard time figuring things out and thinking because of the pressure of streaming the game." Asmongold claimed that he would consider streaming the game again, but he was reluctant given how he didn't believe he would have "fun."

Will Asmongold Return To Playing Elden Ring?

Following on from his frustrating stream, Asmongold posted a YouTube video in which he explained his views on Elden Ring and that the game is still frustrating for him, but he would "probably continue to try" and give it another go. He also claimed that, although he is best known for his MMO playthroughs, he's played "every single Fromsoftware game" from start to finish. Not to mention he claimed he has played "thousands of hours" of souls games, including Bloodborne and all three games in the Dark Souls franchise. So, when it comes to games like Elden Ring, he definitely knows what he's talking about.

As of writing, Asmongold is currently doing a Twitch stream in which he is planning to plough through both Elden Ring and Lost Ark. Asmongold has continued to stress that he thinks Elden Ring is a great game, but like many of us is just finding it particularly difficult.

However, he claimed that, as time goes, on it will get easier thanks in part to more guides to help players out with the game. Talking of which you can have a read of our collection of Elden Ring guides right here
