League of Legends has been out for quite some time now, and the number of cosmetics/skins that the game has released is incredible, to say the least. Being a free-to-play video game, Riot Games generates most of its revenue from these cosmetic items in the game. Moreover, these cosmetics pave the way for curbing the monotonous repetition of the same skins and add a tasteful variety for the players.
The game has around 153 champions currently with the recent addition of Rell, and it is not possible to make cosmetics for every character in the game at the same pace. Therefore, the developers need to consider a few things before choosing the champions to make the game's next skins. They look at various factors such as if the champion has a high play-rate in competitive matches, and if the champion’s lore theme is flexible with the line of skins.
Many off-themed cosmetics have made their way into the game, such as the Pyjama Guardian Cosplay Urgot, which completely changed the champion's look and gruesome nature. Some cosmetics also have advanced VFX effects, animated recall animations, themed sound effects, and colourful abilities that make them truly incredible to look at in the game.
Champion cosmetics options are also rewarded to World Champions each year. The winning team’s five players have the opportunity to choose their favourite champions to honour their legacy and make their popular champion immortal in the game. Certain cosmetics have also started receiving chromas that can be used to change the base colours of skin and suit it according to the player's wishes.
Which Champion Has The Most Skins In League Of Legends?
Coming back to the initial question - Ezreal, The Prodigal Explorer, is the champion with the most skins to his name, scoring 15 skins, including the prestige edition. He has the most number of skins in League of Legends, closely followed by Miss Fortune at 14 skins.
Some champions barely get any skins due to their low play rate in the competitive professional sphere. Therefore, players playing champions like Vel'Koz, Zac, Ornn, Illaoi, Kled, amongst many others, don’t get as many skins as the popular champions receive. However, Riot Games are constantly changing up old champions and reworking them to push their play-rate up and potentially make more cosmetics for them in the future.
Which Is The Best Ezreal Skin In League Of Legends?
Ezreal has two World Cup Esports-based skins, namely SSG Ezreal (Haru) and TPA Ezreal (BeBe), which add more substance to the champion’s potency in professional plays. He also has three 520 RP skins, such as Striker Ezreal, Frosted Ezreal, and Nottingham Ezreal, which are fairly simple looking and have usual visual makeovers.
Going a little higher, at 750 RP, Ezreal has three brilliant budget cosmetics - Explorer Ezreal, Debonair Ezreal, and Ace of Shades Ezreal skins. These cosmetics have a slight visual makeover, strong themes, and light, colourful changes that make a great pick.
We are now into the big premium tier of 1350 RP, where things start getting very interesting, and the skins have alternative universes attached to them. Skins like Arcade Ezreal, Star Guardian Ezreal, Pyjama Guardian Ezreal, and the recent addition of PsyOps Ezreal, which has a Prestige edition as well. These skins look absolutely marvellous and stunning. These cosmetics' tiers feel very good, and the special animations attached to them make it worth it to purchase them in the shop.
Moreover, an elite class of 1820 RP Battle Academia Ezreal skin and a costly skin of 3250 RP Pulsefire Ezreal includes new voice lines, new animations, and chromas, making it a very expensive yet satisfying cosmetic in the game. These skins' themes are powerful, the animations are fresh, and the sounds are melodious, making the player feel that they are using a new champion with the existing champion's abilities to their name.
The best skin for Ezreal depends on the preference and taste of the players. However, personally, we like Battle Academia Ezreal, and PsyOps Ezreal, and think that these are close winners to the other existing skins in League of Legends.
Why Does Ezreal Have So Many Skins In League of Legends?
After going all of the above-stated skins, you might be wondering why Ezreal has so many cosmetics despite champions like Kled, who merely have two skins to their name. As mentioned above, if many people play Ezreal on-hit builds and spam their matches with him, his play-rate will increase. Therefore, if a small group of people are playing Kled, the chances are that the play rate will go lower in League of Legends.
As a company, Riot Games needs to make sure that their cosmetics sell, and making skins with less popularity isn’t going to work. The profits for the Ezreal cosmetic are going to be higher than that of Kled skins. At the end of the day, gamers need to be patient and hope their champions get more cosmetics in the future with the game's ever-changing meta.
