Disney Dreamlight Valley's next update, The Laugh Floor, is finally here with two new villagers from Monsters, Inc., Mike and Sulley to unlock alongside a new Star Path and duties to complete

However, similar to unlocking most other characters in the game, you must fulfil some prerequisites to get them - so here's a breakdown of the quests you'll need to complete to add them to your game as villagers.

How to unlock Mike & Sulley

You can unlock Mike and Sulley by unlocking the Monster Inc. Realm and completing the 'Escape Claw' and 'Eye on the Prize' quests.

Once you do that, you can place their house in the Dream Valley in exchange for 20,000 Star Coins to unlock Mike and Sulley as villagers.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Escape Claws quest guide

The Escape Claws quest starts once you've unlocked the Monsters Inc. Realm door inside the Dream Castle in exchange for 15,000 Dreamlight. After a short animation gives you the first glimpse of the different locations inside it, you will then get your first objective: 'Examine the door to the Laugh Floor'.

  • Head straight and interact with the big door before you get the pop-up message, "Monster not identified. Employees only beyond this point," progressing the objective and unlocking the next one where you must "Search for something to disguise yourself as a monster"
  • Next, interact with the locker next to the notice board, open the Lost and Found Monster Wear and equip the outfit
  • Once you do that, select your Camera and take a selfie to progress on
  • Lastly, interact with the door to access the Laugh Floor and talk to Sulley

Exhaust through his dialogues and complete the following objectives:

  • Clean the Laugh Floor
  • Remove Slug Slime Puddles
  • Remove Party Trash

To clear the Puddles, use your Watering Can on them, and to remove the Party Trash, interact with them. Once you complete the objective, talk to Sulley and then use the Coffee Station in the first room to make The Wazowski Special and Sulley's Coffee.

Making The Wazowski Special & Sulley's Coffee

You can make The Wazowski Special using the following ingredients that you can collect right next to the Coffee Station:

  • Non-Dairy Screamer x1
  • Sugar x3
  • Coffee Beans x1

To make Sulley's Coffee, you'll just need five Coffee Beans. Once done, bring them back to Mike in the Laugh Floor, exhaust his dialogue options and talk to Sulley. Afterwards, find the Emergency Manual, which is on the computer desk right next to Mike.

Collect it and give it to Sulley to open up another set of new objectives, where you'll need to find and replace the fuses to correct the power flow to rescue Mike. You can do this by fixing:

  • Electrical Panel
  • Power Lines

You can find the Fuse required for fixing the Electrical Panel on the Laugh Floor. Just look for objects that glow. As for Power Lines, look on the ground and interact with the lines with electrical sparks, and then talk to Mike and Sully to complete the Escape Claws quest.

Eye on the Prize walkthrough

You'lll get the Eye of the Prize quest right after completing the Escape Claws quest, and you'll need to talk to Mike and then search the Reception for Keycards.

To get them, head to the northwest part of the Laugh Floor and interact with the red cabinet to get the MIFT Toolkit required to open the Out of Order door in the first room next to the notice board.

Once you get past the door, go to the reception room and collect the required Keycards. Doing so will unlock the next objective, where you'll want to speak to Mike again, give him the keycard, and then enter the door in bay F2.

Search for clues behind door F2

Next, interact with the following things inside the room to progress further:

  • The Elephant drawing near the lamp
  • The Clown drawing on the right wall near the door
  • The curtain in the room to find the 'Ringmaster's Hat and the Wand' drawing

You'll then want to talk to Mike again and then enter the door in bay F3. The new objective will ask you to "take photos of the clues in the room behind door F3", so open your camera and take pictures of the following things:

  • The lights on the ceiling
  • The book on the floor left of the bookshelf
  • The astrojet poster on the wall

After that, speak to Mike again and head to the door in bay F4 of the Laugh Floor. Now, you must "search the room for a physical clue." Remove the pile of clothes on the floor next to the door and complete the objective by collecting the Whoopee Cushion. Bring it back to him and you'll then need to find the Blue, Green, and Red Sodas.

  • Head to the first room and collect the Red Soda from the Red Soda Machine
  • To collect the Blue Soda, you must interact with the blue switch on the wall next to the Blue Soda Machine and then collect it.
  • As for the Green Soda, head inside the room you previously unlocked using the MIFT Toolkit and use your Royal Pickaxe to hit the Green Soda Machine

Once that's done, all you'll then need is to bring the Sodas to Mike to complete the quest!
