How cooking works in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Cooking in Disney Dreamlight Valley is relatively straightforward. All you need is a cooking station, ingredients to experiment with, and a lump of Coal - which is a common resource gathered from mining rocks and ores.

Once you unlock the Ratatouille realm and recruit Remy to the valley, you will also gain access to the restaurant, Chez Remy. Here, you can buy dairy ingredients and cater to the valley's inhabitants.

Luckily, you do not need the ingredients in your inventory to bake with them, they should be automatically linked to the cooking menu when you interact with any cooking station.

What is the best meal to make money?

You'll need a healthy amount of Star Coins in your purse to keep advancing through the game. Selling cooked dishes can quickly rack up the Star Coins if you have the ingredients available.

How to get the Here and There fish

The two most profitable dishes in the game require the Here and There fish. To get the fish, you must first gain level 10 friendship with Nala and complete her associated questline, 'Here and There and Back Again'.

As always, when fishing, make sure you have a fishing companion with you to increase the odds of a double reward. The Here and There fish can only be caught between the hours of 6 AM - 10 AM and 6 PM - 10 PM.

Once the questline is completed the fish can spawn in any biome, in and outside of ripples. To increase your odds, it's best to fish outside of ripples to limit the chances of catching other fish varieties during this time and maximise your farming.

There are a total of 189 recipes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, categorised into different dish types. As of writing, there are:

• 40 appetizers
• 85 entrées
• 64 desserts

There are even more dishes due to come with the next update. Many dishes in the game require you to advance certain friendship quests to unlock, whereas most will simply require you to experiment with ingredients.
