Update 9 of Disney Dreamlight Valley - also known as The Laugh Floor - added Mike and Sulley into the game alongside a brand new Star Path, with lots of different duties to work through to go towards unlocking all the new items.

Known as Lovely Monsters, this particular Pixar-themed Star Path has plenty to check off of your virtual to-do list - and as I'm absolutely loving everything Gameloft has included in this round, I'm working through them all as fast as I can.

I've already started chipping my way through all of the daily duties that crop up, and these are all of the ones I've found so far that will also appear for you:

Duties Completion Requirement
Break some rocks 40
Build stuff! 10
Cook meals that would never make the cut at Chez Remy 10
Complete Dreamlight Duties 5
Earn some Star Coins 5,000
Engage in Goofy's favourite past time 30
Harvest some bright red berries 50
Make small talk 2
It's better to give a favourite gift than to receive 3
Spend time with some classic friends 15
"Uproot" the Forgetting 5

These aren't the only duties that you'll come across, either, but I'll make sure to update this list with more of them as I come across them over time while I'm playing.

How to complete Star Path duties

The descriptions that are given in the titles for each duty in the Lovely Monsters Star Path can be a little vague at times, especially if this is your first time playing or you've returned for a long break.

Below you'll find a little rundown of what it is that you need to do to breeze through each duty, and tips for how I like to complete them.

Break some rocks

For this duty, you'll need to grab your Pickaxe and pop over to and break Mining nodes throughout the world. I tested it on the regular old rocks you can find on the ground in the valley that gives you coal, but this didn't increase the counter for this particular duty.

For an added benefit, remember to take a friend with you that you've assigned the Mining Hangout Bonus to, so you're killing two birds with one stone for any additional resources you may need for crafting.

Build stuff!

For this one, you'll want to venture over to your trusty Crafting Table and get building! Initially, when seeing this one I wondered if it also referred to placing furniture down in the world, but no, for this one you'll just want to get super crafty and build 10 items.

It doesn't have to be just furniture, either! Regardless of whether you're 'building' Seaweed or a new Clay Jug to display in your world, this counter will tick up nice and quickly.

Cook meals that would never make the cut at Chez Remy

For this duty, you'll want to cook 1-Star meals - which, shockingly, includes coffee (how dare Gameloft be so bold). Other easy ones in terms of ingredients are Crackers or Crudites, with the former only requiring a grain like Wheat or Rice, and the latter only needing a vegetable to make.

You can create these wherever you like, and you can also make multiple of the same item for this one too, meaning it's very quick to get through on the whole.

Complete Dreamlight Duties

For this one, you'll need to complete a set of five different Dreamlight Duties. To do this, press 'Escape' to open the menu, head over to the 'Dreamlight' tab at the top of your screen and then select 'Dreamlight Duties' for a list of what's available to do.

I find ones like harvesting and gifting to be much quicker to get through than something like Scramblecoin, though, so you can definitely choose some of these that are a bit faster to complete.

Earn some Star Coins

Probably one of the easiest Star Path duties involves earning Star Coins. You can do this one in a flash (especially if you're a Pumpkin hoarder like me) by chatting to Goofy at one of his stalls and selling items.

Pumpkins, as we all likely know, are very lucrative in the valley, so if you've got some on you, sell them to Goofy when this one appears and you'll have it done and dusted in no time.

Engage in Goofy's favourite past time

Gawrsh! Gone fishin'? You'll need to for this Star Path duty. Grab your fishing rod, head over and get set to catch the catch of the day... 30 times. When doing this one, it'll need to be actual fish that you're fishing up for this counter to go up, as things like quest items and seaweed won't affect it from my experience.

Harvest some bright red berries

For this one, you'll want to harvest any of the different red berries found throughout your world. You can double up on these too, particularly if someone has a favourite fruit for their gifts today.

You can find Raspberries and Gooseberries in Dreamlight Valley, with the former spawning in the Peaceful Meadow or Plaza, and the latter being found in the Forgotten Lands and Frozen Heights.

Strawberries also count if you own the A Rift in Time DLC, and these can be found in Eternity Isle.

It's better to give a favourite gift than to receive

Disney Dreamlight Valley is all about the Gifts. Forget birthdays or holidays, in this neck of the woods you can gift to your heart's content - and this duty is just another reason to stop by your favourite (or newest) villagers to go towards building their Friendship Level.

You'll want to make sure that you're not just gifting them any old thing as well - it'll need to be one of their daily favourites (which you can see when going to gift something to them or under the Collection > Characters tab and scrolling to who you're giving the present to). You also can't gift a person their favourite gift twice, but you can gift the same character with another of their faves.

Make small talk

This one goes nicely with the earlier task to cook 1-star recipes, as all you'll need for this is to go over to a villager, interact with them and have a discussion by pressing the speech bubble icon in the list of dialogue choices.

While there are plenty of characters to chat with throughout the world, there are usually a good few villagers here waiting to be served their dish of choice, meaning you can chat with one and quickly move to the other quicker than you can say 'Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo'!

Spend time with some classic friends

Player, Scrooge and Mickey

Hot Diggity dog! That's one of Mickey's iconic lines, and he's just one of a few characters you can spend time with to complete this particular duty.

Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, and Scrooge are all viable here, and you'll want to talk to them and ask them to Hang Out - you'll then want to spend 15 minutes with them (you could even take them along while you complete other tasks on this list for a double whammy!)

"Uproot" the Forgetting

You know those incredibly persistent, pesky, purple Night Thorns? Yep, those ones. You'll want to do a spot of magic and remove 50 of them for this duty.

That's all there is to it for this one, and if you've shelved Disney Dreamlight Valley while you were waiting for the most recent update (like me), you'll likely have an absolute truckload of them to thwart - making this one a breeze.
