To unlock the quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley you’ll need to reach friendship level four with Belle first, you can do so by giving her three favorite gifts per day.

Once you speak with her, she will reveal that she has found a mysterious book within the Dreamlight Library and needs your help deciphering it.

You’ll need to help Belle make a Translation Machine for the first part of the quest. To do this you’ll need to pick up three of Maurice’s Desing Pages from the Beauty and the Beast realm in the Dream Castle.

The pages are located in the following areas:

  • Underneath the painting, Belle made for the Beast within the rose room
  • Underneath a tree in the garden (head towards the center of the maze, then head towards the tree opposite the stone steps)
  • In the library, in the top left corner of the room, left of the fireplace.

Once you have all three pages, return to Belle who will ask you to gather the materials needed to make the machine.

  • Softwood x30 – Can sometimes be bought from Krisoff’s stall or picked up from underneath trees in the Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor and Glade of Trust biomes, also from digging up small and large tree stumps.
  • Tinkering Parts x4 – Made from Iron Ingot at a workstation.
  • Glass x20 – Made at a workstation from Coal and Sand. Sand can sometimes appear as rotating stock at Kristoff’s Stall, you can dig it up on Dazzle Beach or break open blue rocks on the beach.
