There's nothing more frustrating than a locked drawer in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, when you know there are precious artefacts inside, waiting to be handed into The Merchant. Early in your playthrough of the Resident Evil 4 Remake, you'll encounter one such locked drawer in the Village Square.

How to get Small Keys in the Resident Evil 4 Remake
The locked drawer in the Village Square is located inside one of the houses, directly north on the map. To unlock it, you'll need a Small Key. These are found throughout the Resident Evil 4 Remake and can only be used once but can be used across all simple locks in the game.
The first Small Key you will come across won't be until near the end of Chapter two, during the course of which you will circle back to the Village Square upon getting the Insignia Key. You will also get another chance to visit the village later with Ashley, so don’t worry too much about collecting everything before continuing. As such, there are areas that you will only be able to discover with Ashely.
The Small Key in chapter two is located within the Village Chief's Manor house, to which you'll gain access by walking through the Abandoned Factory area. From the Manor, the pathways will loop back to the village via the Insignia locked door outside. You can use this to grab the key and unlock the drawer in one go.
Where is the Small Key in the Resident Evil 4 Remake chapter two?
As mentioned, the Small Key is located inside the Village Chief's Manor, on a side table in the dining room, as pictured above.
Once you get the key, you're free to solve the puzzle in the locked kitchen cabinet and unlock the bedroom upstairs. The clue to the puzzle lies within the book on the table in the upstairs hallway.
