Along with Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Pokemon Company announced a Tera Raid for the Paradox version of the Gen-2 legendary Suicine, Walking Wake. Here is all you need to know in this Walking Wake Pokemon Scarlet and Violet guide.

Available longer than most exclusive Tera raid Pokemon, the 5-Star Walking Wake Tera Raid - exclusive to Pokemon Scarlet - is available from Monday, 27 February 2023 at 3PM UTC to Sunday, 12 March 2023 at 11:59PM UTC.

Although available for almost two weeks, it should be kept in mind that only one Walking Wake can be caught per game. However, you can still take part in the raid as many times as you like, or join other Walking Wake raids if you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Where can you find Walking Wake?

To access the Walking Wake location for this Scarlet Tera Raid, you'll have first needed to unlock 5-Star Raids. To unlock 5-Star Raids, you'll need to beat the game's main story and complete the Academy Ace Tournament storyline.

Afterward, Jacq will call you that the more powerful Tera Raids have appeared across the map.

On your map, look for the shining Water-type Tera Raid symbol and that's where the Walking Wake Tera Raid can be found. Otherwise, if you're playing Pokemon Violet, you can also search for the Tera Raid online the Poke Portal.

How to counter Walking Wake?

Although not as difficult as the 7-Star Tera Raid events that have been appearing lately, like for Greninja or Cinderace, it will still be a tough fight for the unprepared. Along with high Sp.Atk and Speed, its unique potential moveset; Flamethrower, Hydro Steam, Noble Roar, Dragon Pulse, and Sunny Day; pairs powerfully with its Protosynthesis ability - boosting its highest stat (Sp.Atk) by 30% when using Sunny Day.

What's more, Walking Wake's exclusive move, Hydro Steam, is boosted by another 50% in Sunny Day's harsh sunlight as well. Altogether, the Suicine Paradox Pokemon is quite the heavy hitter.

Although this Paradox Pokemon has a base Water-Dragon type, Walking Wake's Tera type is Water. Along with that and its 5-Star level, you won't need to prepare too meticulously with a particular Pokemon for this raid. Since Walking Wake knows Flamethrower, grass-types would be a no-go here.

So, as long as you go in with a tank electric type of at least level 75-80 - Like Iron Hands, Bellibolt, or Ampharos - you should be more than able to defeat and catch Walking Wake on your first try.
