How to evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Indigo Disk

With the launch of The Indigo Disk expansion, players will no doubt be wondering how to evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

Since both Pokemon have only just been made available in the game for the first time, it's easy to miss the unique method required to pull the evolution off. So, let's get into how to evolve Seadra in The Indigo Disk.

How to evolve Seadra into Kingdra in The Indigo Disk

Like in past Pokemon games, the only way to evolve Seadra into Kingdra in Scarlet & Violet is by trading it whilst holding a Dragon Scale.

There isn't any level requirement for this evolution, so it will trigger as soon as Seadra is traded to the other player. Of course, you'll need to conduct this trade with a friend so they can send you Kingdra back.

How to get a Dragon Scale

The quickest way to get a Dragon Scale in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is by buying one from the Indigo Disk's School Store for 250 BP.

However, if you want to save your BP for unlocking all of the DLC's starter Pokemon, you'll also get a Dragon Scale as a reward for registering 170 Pokemon in the Blueberry Pokedex.

Is there any other way to get Kingdra?

If you don't have a friend to trade and evolve a Seadra with, or simply don't want to hassle, you can also get a Kingdra in Scarlet & Violet by finding it 5-Star or 6-Star Raid Battles in The Indigo Disk.

To find one, you'll either need to approach the Tera Raid Crystal directly to find Kingdra, or look amongst raids being hosted in the Tera Raid Battle menu in the Poke Portal.

Finding Kingdra in Tera Raids will ultimately come down to luck though; so, if you want to add it to your Pokedex as soon as possible, trading Seadra with a Dragon Scale will be the simplest method.
