Many players have been searching for the latest Blaziken Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, wanting to beat the mighty 7-Star Boss.

Like the Hisuian Samurott or Decidueye Tera Raids before it, defeating this Blaziken with the Mightiest Mark is no easy task without a Pokemon with an optimised build and moveset. So, let's learn how to defeat and catch this special Blaziken.

The best Blaziken Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Miraidon

Pokemon Violet players will be in luck, as Miraidon will definitely be the easiest Blaziken counter to use in this Tera Raid. Not only does this Legendary boast resistance to Blaziken's Flying and Fire-type moves, but it's also a tanky yet powerful special attacker.

The best Miraidon build to use as a Blaziken Tera Raid counter is as follows:

  • Ability: Hadron Engine
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Electric
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Electric Terrain, Metal Sound, Parabolic Charge, Reflect

With Reflect to bolster your party's Defense and Metal Sound to reduce Blaziken's Sp. Def. Parabolic Charge will be the signature move here. Whilst being super-effective against the boss, Parabolic Charge will also recover for Miraidon half the damage inflicted against Blaziken.

With the held Metronome to increase Parabolic Charge's damage with each consecutive use, you can't go wrong with this build.

Wash Rotom

A hybrid Water/Electric-type with the Levitate ability to boot, Wash Rotom is a perfect contender to counter the 7-Star Blaziken, being resistant to the Mightiest Mark's Fire, Ground, and Flying-type attacks.

The best Wash Rotom build to beat the 7-Star Blaziken is the following:

  • Ability: Levitate
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Stellar
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Nasty Plot, Reflect, Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp

A fun twist of this Tera Raid is that Blaziken's Flying Tera Type will make it vulnerable to Fire-type moves, meaning you can use Will-O-Wisp to inflict Burn and have its Attack stat cut in half.

With Reflect to also bulk up your party Defense and Nasty Plot to increase Wash Rotom's Sp. Attack, you can hit hard with Thunderbolt and recover extra health thanks to the held Shell Bell.

Bellibolt

Like Miraidon, Bellibolt is a bulky but effective Blaziken counter when going into this Scarlet & Violet Tera Taid with the right strategy - utilising its unique ability and specially curated moveset.

The best Bellibolt build to use as a Mighty Blaziken counter is as follows:

  • Ability: Electromorphosis
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Electric
  • Hold Item: Metronome
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Acid Spray, Chilling Water, Electric Terrain, Parabolic Charge

Being able to make use of the super-effective and self-healing Parabolic Charge like Miraidon, Bellibolt is also a great choice to use against Blaziken thanks Electromorphosis - boosting the power of its next Electric-type attack after taking damage.

With Acid Spray to lower Blaziken's Defense, you also have Chilling Water to lessen its Attack stat and have a bit of bonus damage inflicted as well.

7-Star Blaziken Tera Raid moveset

To help you get ready for battle, the Mightiest Mark Blaziken will have the following attacks in its moveset:

  • Blaze Kick
  • Brave Bird
  • Bulk Up
  • Earthquake
  • Low Kick
  • Overheat
  • Rock Slide
  • Swords Dance

Blaziken's weaknesses in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Normally a dual Fire/Fighting-type, Blaziken has a Flying Tera Type in this Tera Raid, giving it not just one weakness, but three: Electric, Ice, and Rock-type moves.

If you're using any Electric-type Pokemon, be sure they've either got a held item or an ability to counter Blaziken's Earthquake - like Rotom's Levitate - or they've been given the right defensive EVs to take any super-effective hits.

When does the Blaziken Raid run until?

The 7-Star Blaziken Tera Raid is currently running from Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 4PM PST until Sunday 21 January, 2024, at 3:59PM, as confirmed on the blog post explaining the event.

Although this isn't the only way to get Blaziken in the game, like finding out how to catch a Torchic in the Indigo Disk DLC and evolving it, this is your chance to obtain the Blaze Pokemon with a unique and competitive-level build - so it's not one to miss out on.

How to find Blaziken Tera Raids

The Blaziken Tera Raid can be easily found in Scarlet & Violet by looking out for the black crystals on the map, like with 7-Star raids of the past.

This Mightiest Mark Blaziken will also have Flying Tera Type. So, you'll need to spot the black crystal with the Flying-type symbol on it to identify the raid's location.

Now you know how to beat the 7-Star Blaziken with the best Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
