It won't be long until the Verdant Wonders event starts in Pokemon GO, where Trainers will be able to catch costumed creatures and even the Legendary Zarude is returning to the game.

Along with getting increased encounters for a variety of Pokemon, this is another Pokemon GO event you'll not want to miss.

Pokemon GO Verdant Wonders dates & times

The Verdant Wonders event will start on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 10AM local time, and end on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 8PM - as confirmed on the event's announcement post.

Within that timeframe, you'll be able to encounter Zarude via a paid Special Research story - giving you another chance to add the Rogue of the Jungle to your Pokemon GO collection.

All new costumes in Verdant Wonders

Whilst playing through Verdant Wonders, you might encounter the following costumed Pokemon debuts during the event:

  • Cottonee (wearing a flower crown)
  • Whimsicott (wearing a flower crown)

You'll be able to get a flower crown-wearing Whimsicott if you evolve a Cottonee with 50 Candy and a Sun Stone.

Increased wild encounters

Throughout the Verdant Wonders event, you'll be able to more frequently find the following Pokemon:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Cottonee wearing a flower crown
  • Cutiefly
  • Flabébé (Blue Flower) – Asia-Pacific region only
  • Flabébé (Orange Flower) – rare encounter
  • Flabébé (Red Flower) – Europe, the Middle East, and Africa regions only
  • Flabébé (Yellow Flower) – Americas region only
  • Flabébé (White Flower) – rare encounter
  • Hoppip
  • Nuzleaf
  • Oddish
  • Panpour – rare encounter
  • Pansage – rare encounter
  • Pansear – rare encounter
  • Poochyena
  • Shroomish
  • Tangela
  • Zorua

You'll also be able to encounter Shiny Flabébé for the first time in Pokemon GO, if you're lucky.

Field Research encounters

As you complete Field Research tasks in Pokemon GO during the Verdant Wonders event, you can earn encounters with the following Pokemon:

  • Cottonee (wearing a flower crown)
  • Marill
  • Panpour
  • Pansage
  • Pansear
  • Poliwag
  • Slugma
  • Vulpix

Since the flower-crown-wearing Cottonee and Whimsicott are especially adorable, I'm more than happy knowing there are multiple ways to catch the little cotton ball Pokemon with their new accessory.
