The Pokemon GO Sustainability Week event is on right now, helping to bring focus to environmental conservation and the beauty of nature. As part of the event, Oranguru will appear in Pokemon GO for the very first time, shiny Cherubi will become available, and a Collection Challenge will be available, plus much more! Most exciting is that Niantic plans to plant up to 100,000 trees for Trainers that walk 5km on April 23. Here's a full guide to everything going on during Pokemon GO Sustainability Week 2022.

The event runs from April 20 at 10am local time to April 25 at 8pm.

A very small pool of Pokemon will be available in 7km Eggs that are picked up during the event. Eggs picked up before the event but hatched during it will not contain these Pokemon, as Egg contents are determined when they're picked up, not when they're hatched.

Here's who will be in 7km Eggs obtained during Sustainability Week 2022:

  • Alolan Diglett
  • Larvitar
  • Cherubi
  • Oranguru

Pokemon GO Sustainability Week: Research

During the event, some event-exclusive Field Research tasks will be available, though we don't know what they will be quite yet. However, we do know which Pokemon encounters they will have:

  • Turtwig
  • Cherubi
  • Snivy
  • Trubbish
  • Chespin
  • Phantump

There will also be some Field Research tasks that reward Vensuaur and Abomasnow Mega Energy.

Alongside the Field Research available for Sustainability Week, there will be an associated Timed Research challenge that is only available on April 23 from 10am to 8pm, local time. Every step of this Timed Research will require you to walk 1km and will lead to a Cherubi encounter.

As part of this single-day Timed Research event, Niantic will donate a tree for every Trainer that walks at least 5km during the event window (up to 100,000 trees).

Pokemon GO Sustainability Week: Collection Challenge

Finally, watch the "Today" section of your quests menu during the event for a time-limited Collection Challenge. This time around, Trainers will need to catch nature-inspired Pokemon, including Gloom and Weepinbell, both of whom will only spawn at Mossy Lures. Here's the full list of Pokemon required for the Sustainability Week collection challenge:

  • Cherubi
  • Grimer
  • Weepinbell
  • Gloom
  • Trubbish
  • Grotle

Finishing this Collection Challenge will reward 15 Great Balls, 10,000 XP, a Pokemon encounter and another point in your Elite Collector medal.

During Sustainability Week, Tapu Bulu will be headlining Tier 5 Raids. Check out our guide to Pokemon GO Tapu Bulu and how to take it down.
