Octopath fans can finally rejoyce, as a demo of the game was finally announced at the recent Nintendo Direct.

The new Octopath Traveler 2 demo gives you the opportunity to play the first three hours of any of the eight character's stories. This gives you a fantastic glimpse into what is in store for the narrative, letting you play around with some of the new mechanics and bathe in the wonderful graphics.

Thankfully, any progress made during the demo will carry over to the full release too - meaning that you won't have to worry about retreading any content, and those three hours will be well spent.

Make sure to check out the latest trailer release above for more information about the new Octopath Traveler 2 demo.

Octopath Traveler 2 is a sequel to 2018's Octopath Traveler, a new style of JRPG from Square Enix.

The game has a similar structure to the first game, with eight playable characters (whose first initials spell out Octopath, if you weren't aware). Each character has their own storyline and abilities.

The game is known for its beautiful HD-2D art style which combines retro pixel art with modern graphics to create a stunning visual design. This style continues in the sequel, with improved detail and a new dynamic camera.

One criticism players had for the first game was the lack of interaction between each character in your party. This has been improved in the sequel, and it looks like we'll have more interactions throughout the game.

Octopath Traveler 2 is just a couple of weeks away, releasing on February 24th. Let's hope a demo gets announced sometime soon!
