Octopath Traveler 2 has four secret jobs that you can equip as a secondary occupation to your fearless party, and these are the Inventor, Armsmaster, Conjurer, and Arcanist.

These jobs unlock different skills and, in some cases, can offer massive stat buffs that will come in handy during those tricky final boss fights. However, you’ll need to travel to every corner of the world to find these secret jobs in the game.

SPOILER WARNING: Some of the secret jobs involve late-game areas, and they are often hidden too. Proceed only if you're OK with having this information revealed.

How to find the Inventor secret job

Head to Eastern New Delsta Highroad in the Brightlands, then travel North until you find a cozy-looking log cabin.

Enter and you’ll find an odd man called Arkar who is surrounded by empty display cases. Chat to this clearly lonely man and he’ll grant you the Inventor License.

This is the first secret job that many people will come across, especially if you picked Throne as your main traveller. I'd recommend pairing this job with Agnea, whose high attack power and Dancer skills work in harmony together.

An interesting tidbit about this secret job is that you’ll need to use materials, rather than Job Points, to unlock the skills of this class. Comes with the job, I guess.

How to get the Armsmaster secret job

You’ll need to head to Gravell in the Wildlands, which is in the far north of the western continent. Once you’ve made it, you’ll see a debt collector harassing Porta, the retired blacksmith, and Armsmaster Guild Leader.

Bring her any of the 6 rusty weapons and she’ll grant you the Armsmaster secret job. Note: you'll need at least one of these rusty weapons for the quest to activate.

It’s particularly useful for scoping out enemy weaknesses with its exclusive move - Sixfold Strike. This will attack a single foe with six different weapons, meaning you could potentially reveal all its weaknesses in one turn.

I equipped this secondary job to Hikari and he is definitely the best option as the game's strongest damage dealer.

How to get the Arcanist secret job

To unlock this secret job, you’ll need to recruit the Merchant Partitio to your party and complete his Scent of Commerce Quest in Tropu’hopu - a town northeast of Beastling Village where you get Ochette.

Next, you need to farm money until you’ve saved up 100,000 leaves for Terry’s Ship, which will give you access to the wild waters. Partitio’s Collect skill can be very helpful here.

Sail towards the whirlpool between New Delsta and Tropu’hopu and you’ll eventually run into the boss - Scourge of the Sea. Beat it up, then sail Northeast to reach The Lost Isle in the Sundering Sea. We recommend grinding your characters to at least Level 45 so they can take on the monsters that they might encounter while crossing the sea.

Finally, you’ll need to get Proof of the Arcanist from the Arcanist Descendant. Climb up the ladder, then read the sign and walk West until you meet them.

How to get the Conjurer secret job

You’ll need to complete Chapter 1 - 5 of Hikari’s story, then take on the five bosses in Five-Tiered tower in Ku, Hinoeuma.

The final boss is the Conjurer herself, who has a massive 200,000 HP. Once you’ve defeated her, you’ll earn the Proof of the Conjurer. I recommend equipping it to Castti, in synergy with her Support role. With this secret job, her ability to nullify debuffs is improved.
