Pokemon Day is taking place once again on February 27, and there will be a special Pokemon Presents stream to celebrate the big day. Here's how to watch along and what you can expect from it.

Every year on February 27, fans around the world celebrate Pokemon Day. While this is a great time to revisit old games or catch up on the anime, the real excitement comes from the announcements of upcoming projects.

How to watch Pokemon Presents stream

You can tune in to the Pokemon Presents stream on the official Pokemon YouTube channel at 6AM PT / 9AM ET / 2PM GMT on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

It's been reported that this year's presentation will be around 13 minutes long. For comparison, last year's presentation was 25 minutes long, while 2022's presentation was a little under 14 minutes long.

I wouldn't read too much into the shorter runtime. 2022's presentation featured the announcement of Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl as well as Legends: Arceus, and that was roughly the same length as this year's presentsation.

If you miss out, don't worry, as the stream should be available to rewatch on YouTube whenever you want. We'll also have roundups of all the biggest news right here at GGRecon!

What to expect from Pokemon Day

The only thing we know officially so far is that this year's Pokemon Day will feature "exciting Pokemon news" - but that doesn't mean we can't speculate!

There have already been loads of rumours flying around, including sequels to Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee or even another 'Legends' game. Other rumours have pointed towards a Mystery Dungeon sequel, which is something fans have been waiting years for.

I'd love to see Pokemon Legends: Celebi become a real thing! Of course, this is all just hearsay for now, so take these rumours with a pinch of salt.

Having said that, previous Pokemon Day events have always featured some kind of big announcement. Here are a few of the most notable reveals from recent years:

  • 2023 - Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, Pokemon Sleep, Pokemon Concierge
  • 2022 - Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Pokemon Legends: Arceus Daybreak update
  • 2021 - Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Based on previous Pokemon Presents streams, it seems pretty likely that we'll see updates for various mobile games like GO, United, and Masters EX. The upcoming Tera Raid schedule for Scarlet & Violet is looking pretty bare at the moment, so there could be something there, too.

As always, it's best to keep your expectations low and go into the stream with an open mind. Then you can simply enjoy whatever gets announced!
