You can now finally find and catch Torchic in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! The new DLC, The Indigo Disk, brings a lot of new features to Generation 9, including Syncronisation and all-new Pokemon. But perhaps the most highly-anticipated feature is the introduction of all the starters from past games, including Torchic.

But if you’ve not seen this feathered friend roaming around the Terarium, you’re not the only one. There are a few steps you need to complete before you can add it to your team. Here’s everything you need to know, including how to find, catch and evolve Torchic in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk expansion.

The Talonflame-eyes amongst us might have spotted a Torchic from the second they landed in The Indigo Disk's Terarium. However, it’s not quite as easy as that! If you want to find Torchic in Unova, you’ll have to complete a few steps first.

You’ll need to farm 3,000 BP (Blueberry Points) to upgrade the Polar Biome biodiversity in the League Club Room. It’s a lot of work, but you’ll also unlock Cyndaquil, Chimchar, Piplup, Oshawott and Scorbunny for your troubles.

Once you’ve paid the Terarium Club all your earthly BP, you’ll need to head on over to the Polar Biome wall. Follow the Coastal Biome border and keep an eye out for a little cave. Torchic will only spawn here, so don’t go looking anywhere else!

How to evolve Torchic

This little chicken eventually evolves into the fearsome Fire/Fighting-ty[e Pokemon Blaziken, which you can feel the full force of when you go up against Crispin in the Elite Four.

Torchic evolves into Combusken at Level 16, and again into Blaziken at Level 36. An easy and quick way of levelling up is to use XP and Rare Candies.

Was Torchic your Starter in Generation 3? Were you the one person who picked Treecko? Or did you liek Mudkips (sorry)? If you’re looking to add them to your team as well, we’ve got you covered on GGRecon.
