Pokemon Scarlet & Violet's Indigo Disk DLC has finally arrived, and with it comes every single starter that has ever joined you on your Pokemon journey!

Chikorita is the Grass-type starter from Generation 2, and it often gets a lot of hate for being… less than good. But if Chikorita has one fan, it’s me.

Whether you want to relive your Pokemon Gold and Silver adventures or you're just looking to complete your Blueberry Pokedex, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to find, catch, and evolve Chikorita in The Indigo Disk expansion.

Where to find Chikorita in The Indigo Disk

If you’re looking to add this friendly Grass-type Pokemon to your team, you’ll need to find it first!

We’ve got good news - you won’t need to grind endless Tera Raids to locate Chikorita, as it can be found roaming around the Coastal Biome. I found my old friend on the northern islands, but it’ll pop up near the middle of the Biome as well. You can see on the map below where to find Chikorita in the Indigo Disk DLC.

But there’s a catch…

Before Chikorita spawns, you’ll need to pay the Terarium Club 3,000 BP (Blueberry Points) to boost the Coastal Biome biodiversity. You can do this by logging onto the PC in the top left of the League Club Room.

Once you’ve handed over your head-earned BP, Chikorita (and a variety of other starter Pokemon) will start to appear. If you can’t spot them, try restarting your game, which should fix any spawn issues.

How to evolve Chikorita into Bayleef and Meganium

Chikorita evolves into Bayleef at Level 16 and Meganium at Level 32. If the Chikorita you've caught is already above this level (which it probably will be), you simply need to raise it by one more level.

To complete your Blueberry Pokedex, you’ll need to evolve your new starter. You can easily do this by feeding it XP Candies or Rare Candies, or simply have it in your Party while you battle wild Pokemon or other Trainers.

Are you planning to add Chikorita to your team? Have you always been Team Chikorita? If not, what about adding Cyndaquil or Totodile to your Scarlet & Violet team? No matter who your first starter was, we’ve got a guide for you at GGRecon.
