Want to know how to reduce the Modern Warfare 2 file size? Modern Warfare 2 is a massive game made up of multiple parts, and it can take up a big chunk of your storage. The file size of modern games has gotten pretty out of control, but thankfully there is something we can do to reduce it here. Here is what you need to know to reduce Modern Warfare 2 file size.

Reduce MW2 File Size: PlayStation

In order to reduce the size of Modern Warfare 2 on PlayStation, you will first need to uninstall the game, if you have it installed. If you do, go to the game and press Start/Options. Delete the game, but don't worry, none of your saved content will be deleted. Once done, head to your library and reinstall the game.

As you do, you will be given a list of options. Each of the various parts of the game will be there, and you can tick or untick them based on what you want to install. Confirm to install the game with just the parts you need.

Reduce MW2 File Size: Xbox

For Xbox Series S or X, you can alter the file size, thankfully without completely uninstalling the game. First of all, make sure the game is closed. Hover over the game and press Options. Select Manage Games & Add-ons.

In this menu, you can choose which parts of the game you want to have installed. Choose any parts of the game you want to be installed, and which parts you don't. The game should then update to make the changes.

 

Reduce Modern Warfare 2 File Size: PC

You have two options for playing Modern Warfare 2 on PC, Battle.net or Steam. On either platform, you have ways to alter the file size of the game. On the Battle.net app, click on Modern Warfare 2. In the bottom left where the Play button is. Click the cog button to bring up options. Select Modify Install, then choose the parts of the game you want to install.

For Steam, the process is similarly simple. Right-click on Modern Warfare 2 in your Steam library, then click on Properties. In the Properties menu, scroll to the DLC tab. Here, you can select which parts of the game to keep or remove.
