The ability to fast travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is locked by default, and players need to follow a certain procedure in order to unlock it. But don't worry, we've got you covered in our rundown below.

How to unlock fast travel

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players can unlock the Fast Travel ability during the initial stages of their exploration, specifically on Great Sky Island.

They must visit the Temple of Time, located north of the Great Sky Island region, where Rauru will demonstrate how to fast travel within the Great Sky Island.

However, it’s worth noting that you must complete The Closed Door main story quest in the game before meeting the Rauru in the Temple of Time. The quest requires you to complete three shrines: Ukouh, In-isa, and the Gutanbac.

After accomplishing the quest and meeting Rauru, it’s time to visit the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower in front of the Hyrule Castle to unlock the first fast travel point in Hyrule.

How to fast travel

To fast travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, open your map by pressing the (-) button and select the blue marker for the shrine or the yellow marker for the tower you want to visit. Then press the A button to confirm your choice. You will be teleported to the selected waypoint instantly.

You can only fast travel to shrines that you have completed and tagged by touching the green glyph at the entrance. You can find shrines all over the game world, both on the surface and in the sky. Some shrines are hidden or require special conditions to access, so keep an eye out for clues and secrets.

On the other hand, you can only fast travel to Skyview Towers that you have activated by interacting with their terminals. You can find Skyview Towers on both the surface and in the sky. Some towers are guarded by enemies or puzzles, so be prepared for a challenge.
