How to find and solve the Gatanisis Shrine in Zelda: Tears of Kingdom
Figuring out how to solve the Gatanasis Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not easy, and even figuring out how to get it in the first place is a challenge. Fortunately, we figured it out so you don’t have to. Even if you just want to know the location of the Gatanasis Shrine so you can have a stab at it yourself, we have the answer here in this guide.
Like with all shrines in the game, you will be fully equipped with everything you need going into the Shrine - all you need are the Rune abilities and some creative thinking.
With that said, here is our solution for the Gatanisis Shrine, as well as where you can find it in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Where is the Gatanisis Shrine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Click to enlargeThe Gatanisis Shrine is located on the far East side of the map, on the very edge of the Akkala Highlands before you reach the four islands. The shrine is directly opposite Knuckel Island. The exact coordinates are (4498, 0825, 0095).
Once you get to roughly where the Shrine is located, you will be stood on the edge of the map. It should be just beneath you, located on the side of the cliffs - you will have to use your Paraglider to reach it.

How to solve the Gatanasis Shrine
Click to enlargeThe good news is there is only one puzzle in here for you to solve. The bad news is, it’s quite a challenge.
As you walk into the Shrine you will see a ball falling onto a platform that’s on a spring, before it rolls off and resets.
Above the platform, there is a target you have to hit with the ball. It sounds simple enough, and with these steps, it will be:
- Using Ultrahand, grab the ball and place it under the target after the platform has stopped moving.
- Now, use Recall on the platform once the ball is still
- This will send the ball directly up hitting the target above the platform
Admittedly, this is likely not the right way to solve the Gatanisis Shrine. You could solve it by timing the bounce of the ball right using the platform. However, in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there is no such thing as the wrong way.
To get the chest in here, you will simply need to:
- Stand on the platform
- Use Recall on the platform until it shoots Link into the sky
- From here, glide over to the chest and collect your reward
- Find out how to upgrade your health and stamina in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, too, which you can do in Kakariko Village.
