  • West Vatorsa Snowfield

To defeat the Rare Stone Talus in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to continuously hit the sparkling rock that acts as its weak point. However, unlike your standard Stone Talus and Battle Talus, this weak point is further down its back, making it a little harder to get to.

Your best option is to use the Ascend Rune Ability underneath the Talus to climb on top and work your way down to the weak point. Or, hitting it with arrows so that it falls and you can chip away at its health from behind.

The Rare Stone Talus is much stronger than the other variants and can pack a powerful punch, so be sure to have plenty of health (or be exceptionally good at dodging) before you start the encounter.

For defeating the Rare Stone Talus, you’ll receive a large amount of precious gems that can fetch a pretty Rupee, and the Rare Stone Talus Heart, which can be fused to a weapon to make an exceptionally powerful hammer.

That’s everything you need to find and defeat the Rare Stone Talus in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re looking for more baddies to beat, check out our guide on how to defeat Gleeok.
