How to add friends in Honkai: Star Rail

With Honkai: Star Rail finally in the hands of players, sometimes, it’s just nice to have a friend or two along the way to lend a hand here and there.

Here, you’ll find out whether you’ll be able to play with your friends in Honkai: Star Rail and how to add them.

How do you add friends?

While players will undoubtedly be eager to add some friends to the roster from the get-go, it won’t be happening straight away. To do so, players will first need to make their way to the Astral Express by completing the Today is Yesterday’s Tomorrow: The Voyage Continues mission.

Once that is all done and dusted, and players have boarded the Astral Express, they will be able to finally add friends in Honkai Star Rail.

To do so, players need only hit the phone button in the top left-hand corner of their screen. From there, they can open the Friends menu and see their whole list of friends.

There are two types of Friends to add: the people you know and the people you don’t. To add random players, it is simply a case of hitting the + button and looking down the list to see which support characters will help you along your way. This list can also be refreshed.

For a more specific selection to find your friends, you can input their UID into the search bar at the top of the page to find them

Does Honkai Star Rail have multiplayer?

In Genshin Impact, multiplayer functionality was one of the key features, allowing players to experience a series of wild adventures alongside a group of allies in and out of the game.

However, the multiplayer functionality in Honkai Star Rail is slightly different. Instead of embarking on missions together, players will only be able to use their friend’s support units instead. While not as active, it allows players to carefully select which supports will be able to aid them greatly in battle.
