Best Honkai Star Rail Welt build: Relics, Light Cones & more

Honkai Star Rail Welt is one of the regular warp banner five-star characters and an essential member of the Trailblazers aboard The Astral Express.

Aside from being something of a father figure in the game, he also serves as a powerful Nihility unit focused on slowing enemies down, dealing a surprising amount of Imaginary damage, and breaking weaknesses.

Welt's basic attack deals Imaginary damage to enemies. His skill is perhaps the most interesting part of his kit, as it deals three instances of damage, with only the first one being at the enemy your target. The other two are random. Each of these hits also has a chance to reduce the enemy's speed.

His ultimate attack deals damage to all enemies and has a 100% base chance of imprisoning enemies, which delays their turn and reduces their speed. His talent buffs his damage when he's hitting an enemy that's slowed, which means he gets stronger once he's had his first turn.

All of these abilities make him a great support character, but you can build him to do decent damage too.

Welt's best light cone is In the Name of the World, which boosts damage to rebuffed enemies, and increases both Effect Hit Rate and ATK when the character uses their skill.

Outside of that, you can use the four-star Light Cone Good Night and Sleep Well, which boosts damage based on the number of debuffs an enemy has.

Finally, he actually has a solid three-star Light Cone option too, which is called Loop. This Light Cone boosts damage against slowed enemies.

Welt's best relic set is the Wastelander of Banditry Desert. This set offers an Imaginary damage boost, but also boosts crit rate by 10% against rebuffed enemies, and crit damage by 20% against imprisoned enemies. It's basically a set built for Welt specifically, so make sure you use this one. Stat-wise,

You should look for Effect Hit Rate, Speed, and then crit stats. He does well with Energy Regen Rate too, thanks to the imprisoned status effect his ultimate can cause.

For his Planar Ornaments, you'll generally be best served by using the Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise set, which boosts his Effect Hit Rate, and then boosts his attack based on his Effect Hit Rate.

You should go for Imaginary Damage on the Planar Sphere, and Energy Regen Rate or ATK on the Link Rope.

Welt is a very versatile Nihility character, and can support just about any team going. You can slot him in as a support in any team where you might need an extra character, and he'll do a fantastic job of keeping enemies at bay.

He also works fairly well with other Nihility characters due to the way he likes other debuffs too. However, his best team may be yet to come. That's because once Imbibitor Lunae arrives, we'll have a dedicated Imaginary DPS character.

If you combine that with Welt, Luocha, who is an Imaginary healer, and then Silver Wolf, you'll have a very powerful team that can always cause Imaginary weakness thanks to Silver Wolf, and can then crush enemies with everyone else. You can, however, sub in Seele for Lunae in the meantime if you have all of these five stars.
