What are Elements & how to use them in Honkai: Star Rail
In Honkai: Star Rail, you’ll quickly find that there are several systems and properties to take into consideration when going into battle. One such system is the Elements, which can dramatically change the way you approach battles.
But what are the game’s elements? How do they work, and who can use them? Well, keep on reading to find out everything you need to know.
What are Elements?
Elements are types of attacks that deal a particular type of damage in battle. There are seven Elements in Honkai: Star Rail, each with its own unique properties and characters associated with them:

| Fire | Burn - Deals fire damage and inflicts the Burn status effect. |

| Ice | Frozen - Freezes enemies and prevents them from performing actions. |

| Imaginary | Imprisonment - Delays the enemy attacks and reduces their speed. |
Luocha Welt |
| Lightning | Shock - Deals lightning damage and inflicts the Shock status effect. |
Arlan Bailu Jing Yuan Kafka Serval Tingyun |
| Physical | Bleed - Deals physical damage and inflicts the Bleed status effect. |
Clara Natasha Sushang |
| Quantum | Entanglement - Delays the enemy's attacks and deals additional Quantum damage. |
Fu Xuan Qingque Seele Silver Wolf |
| Wind | Wind Shear - Deals wind damage and inflicts the Wind Shear status effect. |
Blade Bronya Dan Heng Sampo |
While the majority of playable characters can only use one element, the Trailblazer player character can switch elements as necessary. They start with the Physical element.
How to use Elements
Using elemental attacks gives you the chance to trigger a Weakness Break. When a Weakness Break occurs as a result of an elemental attack, it will apply extra damage and could even leave the enemy with a lingering status effect.
