FFXIV Patch 6.5 Growing Light: Release date, Alliance Raids, Dungeon & more

The latest patch for FFXIV has been announced, titled Patch 6.5 Growing Light. There's a lot of new content to be seen in this patch, and it seems to be the patch gearing up towards the newest expansion that has been announced for the game, titled FFXIV: Dawntrail.
There will be plenty of content in this patch, as there already is throughout the game, with players able to unlock mounts and complete side quests from previous expansions. This patch adds content for those who are already in the endgame, and need new content to keep the game fresh.

FFXIV Growing Light release date

The latest major patch for FFXIV, named Patch 6.5 Growing Light, will be arriving in the game on October 3, 2023.
This isn’t far away at all, and gives players time to get excited and to wrap up any loose ends that they may have in Endwalker before getting started with the latest Endwalker patch that is prepping players for Dawntrail.
Growing Light Main Scenario Quests in FFXIV

There will be a brand new questline for players to undertake, aptly named Growing Light. In this questline, the Warrior of Light will be seeking help from their allies in the First to try and bring light back to a world covered in a veil of darkness.

Alliance Raid Dungeon in FFXIV

Part 3 of Myths of the Realm will be added to the game. This is named Myths of the Realm Part 3: Thaleia. This takes players back to Omphalos to grant the Twelve their heart’s desire, as you take down new bosses alongside 23 other players, working together to grant the wish of the Twelve within their sanctum.

New Dungeon in FFXIV

For players wanting a new challenge, there will be a brand new dungeon to take on. This dungeon is titled The Lunar Subterrane. This takes you into the labyrinths guarded by Zeromus and Golbez’s secrets, and it is up to you and your party to discover the secrets they are hiding, and what horrors await you in their labyrinth.
New Trial

There is a brand new trial for players to take on, titled the Abyssal Fracture. The Warrior of Light will have to brave it all and face The Darkness. Failure guarantees the Thirteenth’s destruction of the Source.

New Unreal Trial

A trial that was already in the game now receives an upgrade, allowing players to take it on in Unreal difficulty. This makes the trial significantly harder, and guarantees more challenges, forcing players to cooperate and communicate with each other. This trial is The Singularity Reactor, where you will take on King Thordan.

Fall Guys collaboration

If you’re seeking a bit of fun and want to do something in the game that isn’t as intense and serious, take yourself down to the Manderville Gold Saucer where you have to take on obstacles and become the number one “bean” in the game.

New Crystalline Conflict Arena

For those who love the excitement of PvP, there will be a brand new Crystalline Conflict Arena for you to battle it out against other players in. Players will now be able to fight to the death on the Red Sands, and fight for glory and triumph over the hot desert.
Not only this, but there will be new PvP gear for players to indulge in too.

Additional Duty Support

The Duty Support system has been updated, allowing players to use the Duty Support System in three new dungeons from FFXIV: Stormblood. This means that you can now have NPC companions helping you out the entire way through Eorzea, all the way up to Endwalker should you need a helping hand!

Free Trial and Starter Edition expanded

The critically acclaimed MMORPG free trial and starter edition will now allow players to play FFXIV up until level 70, which includes expansions Heavensward and Stormblood.
