While Apex Legends Season 16 has been great for the most part, it's not without complications. Unfortunately, Revelry has introduced a nasty glitch that the community is referring to as the ready-up bug.

The Apex Legends ready-up bug is a strange glitch in which every time the Party Leader readies up, it'll automatically un-ready the Party Leader before you can find a match. This makes it impossible to find a match because the search will abort when someone in the party un-readies.

It's been established that the Apex Legends ready-up bug only occurs when players from different platforms party up and try to play crossplay together. For example, if you play on a PC, but your friend plays on PS5, you are susceptible to the ready-up bug.

Knowing this, there are a few fixes you can try to make the Apex Legends ready-up bug go away.

How to fix the Apex Legends ready-up bug: Make someone else Party Leader

A simple trick that may fix the Apex Legends ready-up bug is to give someone else Party Leader. Give Party Leader to the friend that you're currently in the lobby with, or ask another friend to host the party. Sometimes swapping the Party Leader role around can bypass the ready-up glitch.

Some players report that swapping to another server fixed the Apex Legends ready-up bug. To switch servers, boot up Apex Legends and navigate to the Data Center at the bottom of the main menu. Here, you can browse a selection of different servers.

Pick a new server, invite your friend(s) back, and see if the ready-up bug is still an issue.

How to fix the Apex Legends ready-up bug: Hard reset Apex Legends

If you still can't get the ready-up bug to go away, all affected players should hard reset Apex Legends. Close the game entirely and start it back up. Hard resetting games is known to quell most glitches and bugs, such as the Apex Legends ready-up bug.

From the outcry in the community, it seems that the Apex Legends ready-up bug spreads far and wide. This glitch has been reported many times over, so it's not exactly a rare occurrence.

As sad as it is, these fixes won't work for everyone. Some players continue to experience the ready-up bug, and no matter what they do, they can't seem to get it to go away. If this is the case, all you can do is wait for Respawn Entertainment to deploy a hotfix.

If you're still suffering from the Apex Legends ready-up bug, you will need to avoid crossplay with friends for the time being and play exclusively solo or with others on your platform until Respawn finds the root of the ready-up bug and squashes it.
