As the final game in the massive series to wear the FIFA moniker, it's fair to say FIFA 23 has a lot riding on it. Though it will go on to become EA Sports FC, it still doesn't mean that the game has a lot to leave behind - there's every chance that the change could bring a lot of confusion to FIFA, as well as the likelihood of losing a lot of sponsors in the process.

Even so, it seems that FIFA is trying to go out with a bang, and now as a new teaser has suggested, there could be a big crossover on the way. It's not just Tekken adding Negan from The Walking Dead that loves pop culture crossovers.

Is Ted Lasso In FIFA 23?

In a surprising yet incredibly unsurprising reveal, it looks like Ted Lasso himself could be making his video game debut in FIFA 23. A new tweet has dropped from the official Ted Lasso account, with an image attached of actor Jason Sudeikis being digitally scanned.

The setup that looks to lend itself to video games anyway - but the caption all but confirms it. "Look out, Mario!" the tweet reads. "You're not the only pixelated man with a mustache who never knows where the tube is taking him…"

It's interesting alone - but the official EA Sports FIFA Twitter account has now responded to the tweet with a shifty eyes emoji. Curious. Even though this could just be friendly banter among two football-themed properties, we all know what's happening here - Ted Lasso is coming to FIFA.

Is Ted Lasso In MultiVersus?

Interestingly, though, this may not be the only video game that Lasso himself could be gracing with his presence. According to a tease from the original leaker of the new Smashlike fighter MultiVersus, alongside a whole package of fighters, Ted Lasso could be joining the game as a combatant.

Lasso is part of a long list that includes Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls, and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. If it's true, it'll perhaps be the most bizarre addition to the game yet. It looks like Ted Lasso is keen to dive headfirst into video games, even ones that definitely don't suit him. Who knows how he'll appear in FIFA, but this is a crossover concept for the ages either way.
