Suicide Squad has come under fire since it was announced for being a live-service game, however it seems devs are trying their hardest to reassure the future player-base that they will be able to fit the game around their lives.

The Game Director took to the official Discord channel to answer questions from those interested in Suicide Squad and quell any concerns they may have.

Players will be able to fit playing Suicide Squad around their daily lives

With the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League just around the corner, those working on the game are trying hard to answer any questions which may arise through Q&As on the official Suicide Squad Discord server.

One of the most frequent topics to come up appears to be the live-service elements of the game, and what this will mean for players.

Game director, Axel Rydby, said: "We all love playing games, but we also have lives (sort of) and that's been a big part of our design philosophy making this game.

“We don't want the game to feel like a life commitment or be a game where you have to sacrifice a lot to see all the content on offer, or feel like you're not making good progress in the game if you can't play hundreds of hours.

“We want this game to be generous, both with your time and with all the features we have to offer."

A reassuring answer which was given confirmed to players that the battle pass will not be game altering in the same way as it is in other live service titles.

Instead, this will simply exist to add cosmetics and premium currency.

Even better, you will be able to revisit the battle pass after the season has ended.

Studio director, Darius Sadeghian, said: "You will be able to go back and play previous Battle Passes after a Season ends.

“We believe that our team has created some of the best looking cosmetic items ever, and we want those to be available for our players to enjoy without fear that they'll miss out on anything.”

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a multiplayer game, Rydby confirmed that the entire game would be playable solo, and if a member of the team cannot make it, players will be able to carry on without them.

He said: "All the content and missions we have in the game can be played Solo or in any group configuration.

“If the fourth player in your 4-player squad couldn't make it because they have the audacity to have a life outside of the game, it won't stop the rest of you from playing if you choose to keep going."

Despite the devs going out of their way to lessen players' concerns, it seems unlikely that the game will receive a fair reception when it releases.

There has been a lot of backlash to not only the live service elements but also the gameplay itself.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release on 2 February on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
