He might have stolen the hearts of many Pokemon fans when Scarlet and Violet was revealed, but Lechonk isn't the only new cutie on the block. Within an instant, the chonky but fonky Lechonk had Pokemon fans in a purr, making us fall in love with the porky pig within an hour.

However, it appears that the sentiment isn't shared by the majority, and Lechonk is actually pretty mid. Yeah, although we didn't want to believe it either, the people have spoken. Sadly, Lechonk isn't actually the most popular new Pokemon.

Who Is The Most Popular Scarlet And Violet Pokemon?

There's something about Lechonk's sad eyes that appealed to fans in a heartbeat, almost like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh. Despite many pigs and hogs preceding him, such as Tepig, Happig, Spoink, and Swinub, Lechonk's droopy eras and sorrowful nose had people yearning to help him above any other Scarlet and Violet additions.

But Nintendo might have just put its pig plushies orders on hold, as it appears there's actually someone cuter than Lechonk. Having held a poll on social media to find who is the cutest Scarlet and Violet Pokemon, the grass-type Smoliv has stunned the developers by being crowned as the favourite.

Resembling a small olive (hence Smoliv) the green stubby legs, worrisome mouth, and beady eyes have led to Pokemon lovers choosing the photosynthesis fanatic over the honking pig.

Is Smoliv Really More Popular than Lechonk?

Maybe we're jumping the gun too quickly, as Nintendo isn't as daft as it might seem. In a typical Twitter poll fashion, Smoliv received over 140,000 likes of support (as of writing), doubling that of Lechonk.

However, the like button is proven to be much easier to press than a retweet, on which Lechonk's votes were cast. Reluctancy to retweet the poll onto fans' own timelines might have led to a flop in Lechonk's numbers. If the roles were reversed, we might have been looking at a different story.

Pawmi came in as a close third, as the only other non-legendary/non-starter Pokemon, whose votes were cast through comments. It's all a pretty bland poll, and anyway, where is the love for Koraidon and Miraidon?

Whether Smoliv is actually better than Lechonk, well, that's still up for debate until an unfavourited poll comes to fruition. For now, anyway, we'll be catching Miraidon, who will reign victorious over your feeble cuties any time, any place.
