Rap superstar Snoop Dog (a.k.a. Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) has become the newest member to join FaZe Clan and is even changing his name to celebrate the announcement.

Snoop Dogg has certified his name as one of the most famous musicians in the world. As a rapper-songwriter, some of his most popular hits include 'Drop It Like It's Hot', 'What's My Name?', and 'Gin And Juice'. However, what many may not about is Snoop Dog's love of gaming, and he's gained a dedicated following thanks to his wild Twitch livestreams. In 2019, he even launched his very own esports league known as the "Gangsta Gaming League."

Now, Snoop has gone further and joined famous esports and entertainment organisation FaZe Clan and it wasn't a moment too soon.

What Is Snoop Dogg's New Role With FaZe Clan?

FaZe Clan officially announced that Snoop Dog is the newest member of the family on March 7. According to FaZe, Snoop will be joining FaZe Clan board of directors along continuing to keep his fans entertained with his hilarious streams as he will work as a content creator for the team. The news will no doubt come as a great surprise for fans, who have already watched some very entertaining moments from the rap legend, such as when he rage-quit Madden NFL 21.

In a statement on its website, FaZe clan said: "The organic relationship between FaZe and Snoop has been building for years now, so we are thrilled to officially welcome FaZe Snoop to the family. As the original internet kid and first generation gamer, Snoop has always understood the cultural connection between music, lifestyle and gaming."

The statement also revealed that it was, in fact, Snoop's son Cordell Broadus who had the idea for the partnership. Speaking about his decision, Broadus claimed: "As I've been watching what FaZe Clan has been building in the gaming space, I knew there was a natural connection with what my dad has been doing." He further claimed he was "inspired by the synergy they could create" and that he couldn't "wait for the world to see" what they have planned.

Snoop Dogg Changes His Name

Don't worry, Snoop Dogg will still be Snoop Dogg for now. However, when it comes to working for FaZe Clan, he will be now be known as FaZe Dogg, similar to other FaZe members, such as Nicholas "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff and Brian "Rug" Awadis. Then again, this isn't the first time that Snoop has played around with his name. In previous times, he's also been known as Snoop Doggy Dogg and briefly Snoop Lion.

Snoop Dogg has collaborated with some of the world's most famous faces in the past, including Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, and now FaZe Clan has added its name to the list. However, this isn't the only piece of exciting news we've heard from the rapper. For example, he's previously confirmed some massive GTA 6 news that Dr Dre fans would be overjoyed to know. Not only that, but could Snoop himself soon be coming to Warzone
