MultiVersus Datamine Confirms Beetlejuice Is Coming

Despite having to postpone its first season, MultiVersus still feels as though it's moving at lightning speed. Fans are still turning up in their droves to get involved with the fighter title, which is proving to be much more than just a Smash Bros. clone starring characters from film and TV that we recognise.

Black Adam and Stripe from Gremlins have finally been confirmed to be making their way to the game, with the upcoming season also adding Rick & Morty themselves. Leaks have suggested that many more characters are on the way... each more bonkers than the last. Two have been confirmed to be joining the roster in a leak from a recent patch.

Is Beetlejuice Coming To MultiVersus?

A new patch for MultiVersus has accidentally given us a peek behind the curtain at new characters to come. Pun very much intended. It has been revealed by leaker AisulMV on Twitter that some voice lines have been discovered in the backend of the current build of the game. These seemingly relate to Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.

Voice lines straight from Beetlejuice have been found to reference the game's other characters and recite famous lines from the film. Sadly, it won't be Michael Keaton returning to the role - instead, he's been replaced with Christopher Swindle - the Beetlejuice voice actor in Lego Dimensions.

The voice line revealing the Wicked Witch is different. We have lines from her as an announcer for the game, and as of right now, is the only video circling the internet that hasn't been taken down. Either way, both characters have been confirmed, and we can't wait to see them arrive.

When Will Beetlejuice And The Wicked Witch Come To MultiVersus?

There's no word on when these characters could be arriving in the game, but as Black Adam and Stripe are arriving in Season 1 with Rick & Morty, there's every chance that they could be the headline fighters for the second season. Plus, knowing where these baddies came from, there's every chance they could make for a new Halloween update without getting too scary (though adding Alien's Xenomorph would certainly go down a treat).

The arrival of Beetlejuice and the Wicked Witch of the West will undoubtedly be a treat - and better yet, their appearance in the game does a lot to confirm the arrival of other leaked MultiVersus characters. We'd previously seen the Wicked Witch alongside Game of Thrones' Daenerys Targaryen, Mortal Kombat's Scorpion, and Neo from The Matrix. Beetlejuice is a new one, so who knows who else is out there?
