There's a storm brewing in the world of Grand Theft Auto, and by the sounds of it, you'll need more than an umbrella to survive this one. With continued whispers the upcoming GTA 6 will include dynamic weather, we're warned not to trust every leak we find online.

It's been a decade (and counting) since we were thrown into the lives of Trevor, Michael, and Franklin. While GTA Online has kept Take-Two Interactive in business, we're more than overdue an overhaul - with GTA 6 supposedly boasting some genre-defining technologies.

GTA 6 dynamic weather screenshot could be a fake

Only those through the iron-clad doors of Rockstar HQ really know what's going on behind the scenes, but talk of smarter NPCs, the ability to instantly travel between cities, and dynamic weather that could change in the blink of an eye, GTA 6 could be one of the most advanced games ever if even half of this true.

Unfortunately, while we've heard a lot about dynamic weather and hyped the idea of seeing alligators caught in hurricanes to recreate the 2019 movie Crawl, we're warned not to believe every GTA 6 leak we see online. Now, GTA fandom is split by a supposed "leaked" screenshot of GTA 6's dynamic weather.

The original screenshot came from a suspended account but was reposted. It appears to show the leaked protagonist of Lucia against the backdrop of a lightning storm. As you can imagine, the fans were quick to tear it apart.

As noted by Sportskeeda, the fact this didn't appear in the deluge of leaks from last year should pretty much confirm it's a fake. Still, the idea of dynamic weather is definitely one that sounds on-brand with where GTA 6 is heading.

All the big GTA 6 rumours

It's hard to gather what's looking likely and what's been debunked, mainly thanks to the fact Rockstar hasn't given us an official trailer. Still, from what we've seen, it looks like that female protagonist is on the money. It's also widely been reported that her male counterpart will make them something of a Bonnie and Clyde.

The other big one is GTA 6's setting. While it's not concrete, there's mounting evidence that we'll go back to the fan-favourite Vice City, albeit revisiting Tommy Vercetti's old stomping ground in a modern-day setting. Aside from that, we've heard about everything from multiple time periods to multiple cities.

Even the idea of a GTA 6 reveal is too lost in a sea of rumours to nail down. Some claim the automotive adventure will release in 2024 or at least before the middle of 2025, but again, your guess is as good as ours. Considering that mega dump of leaks, Rockstar has done well to keep what's going on with GTA 6 locked up tight.
