Horizon Netflix Series Is Bringing Aloy To Life In Live-Action

Video games making the transition to the small screen is the latest trend in TV production. Now, a Horzion Netflix series is poised to bring Aloy to life in live-action, and a whole new generation of fans to tie into the success of the franchise's two games.
The Last of Us peeking over the horizon is giving a lot of fans hope that Joel and Ellie's story could breach the mainstream, but there has been a big recent miss with Halo's Paramount+ series. It's shaky ground, but the opportunity to truly break through is there. It's clear that Sony's efforts aren't stopping with The Last of Us - because another of its franchises is coming to TV.
Is A Horizon Netflix Series On The Way?

As reported by ResetEra user Nightengale - who claimed to be watching Sony's business briefing at the time of posting - Sony confirmed its suspected God of War TV series, as well as new shows based on the Horizon and Gran Turismo series.
Supposedly, the Horizon Netflix series will be headed to the streaming service, which means it will sit alongside the might of the Henry Cavill-led Witcher. It's a surprising turn away from God of War, with all sides claiming it'll be landing on Prime Video. Finally, the idea of a Gran Turismo series is yet to find a home.
This is great news, not just for video game fans at large, but fans of the Horizon series. The world created by Guerilla Games in 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn and 2022's Horizon Forbidden West is vast and gorgeous. In the right hands, it could very easily make the jump to live-action in style.
Who Will Star In The Horizon Netflix Series?
Naturally, the question has now turned to who exactly should bring Aloy to live-action - but we're still firmly team Ashly Burch on this one. The voice actor for Aloy has more than proved that she can bring her acting talents to live-action with her role in Mythic Quest, so who's to say that she can't get involved in some action as well?
Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Sadie Sink, and Rose Leslie are all names that have been thrown around online, but we'll just have to wait until the show enters production to find out. Horizon has a fascinating world that could well adapt nicely to the small screen if we have a big enough budget, so we're excited to see how things turn out. Let's hope it doesn't go the way of Halo, mind.
