Someone has just broken the Bat, as Warner Bros. Montreal confirms Gotham Knights will be new-gen only. The much-hyped spiritual successor to Rocksteady's Arkham trilogy will skip PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to focus purely on the latest generation of console.

When WB showed off a glossy gameplay reveal, fans noticed the end crawl only listed new-gen consoles instead of a multi-generational release. Confirmation comes from up high, with a statement (via VG247) reading: "Please note, to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles."

When Is Gotham Knights Coming Out?

As long as Gotham Knights isn't delayed, it's set to be one of 2022's biggest games. However, it could be in the minority of AAA titles that completely forego last-gen console releases. Due to land on October 25, those of you who've been lucky enough to nab a PS5 or Xbox Series will be able to unite the Bat-Family.
