Midnight Society is Dr Disrespect's brand-new AAA game studio, and although there's plenty to work on, it has added an exciting name to the team. Safe to say, Halo Infinite fans are in for a treat.

In December 2021, Herschel "Dr Disrespect" Beahm IV sent shockwaves across the industry after he revealed Midnight Society as his new AAA game studio. Many speculated as to whether the studio was the product of the Doc's frustration and general disappointment in current battle royale games like Warzone.

However, fans not only rejoiced at some sneaky previews of the studio's first upcoming game, but the long list of battle royal specialists in the team who have worked on the likes of Halo and Call Of Duty. The hype has only just grown, as it has been revealed that Halo Infinite veteran Darren Bacon has joined the Midnight Society team.

Who Is Darren Bacon?

For those who aren't familiar with the name, Darren Bacon joins Midnight Society having just finished working as the Associate Art Director for Halo Infinite. With a background in Automotive Design, Bacon then went on to lend his creative talents to Microsoft for more than seven years. During this time, he worked on a number of Halo games, including Guardians- the fifth instalment to game franchise.

However, Bacon already built up an impressive career before moving to Microsoft. According to his LinkedIn page, Bacon previously worked as a Concept Artist with Disney on Mars Needs Moms! and Disney's A Christmas Carol. He also took on the same position when working for EA and Zombie Studios, then was promoted to a Senior role with the game developer Bungie when working on Destiny.

When Did Darren Bacon Join Midnight Society?

On February 1, the Midnight Society Twitter page announced that Darren Bacon had joined the team as the Studio Art Director. Given Bacon's wealth of talent and knowledge of the field, the news came much to the delight of fans. The Doc himself was also clearly ecstatic about the news.

Speaking about his excitement about joining Midnight Society, Bacon said: "I think transitioning to an open development cycle where you build a game with the community will be really neat [...] I'm also excited to work in Unreal Engine 5 and collaborate with a passionate team and community.

"I've heard Dr Disrespect talk on stream many times about his frustrations with the content that comes out of AAA game studios, and he's like, 'okay let’s do it ourselves.' I don't think anyone else could do it but him."

There's still no official news about the studio's first game, which is currently in the works. But, with Bacon adding his name to the growing list of former Halo and Call Of Duty developers who are already here, there are certainly some exciting things to come from Midnight Society.
