Diablo 4 is already proving to be one of the best Diablo experiences that we've ever had, and aside from it breaking franchise records over at Blizzard, fans are absolutely loving their fight for Sanctuary.
The game is brilliantly accessible for those returning to the franchise or for those rocking up for the very first time - despite the brutal Butcher. The features are all pointed toward everyone having the chance to take on the game in a fair way.
But not everyone sees Diablo 4 in that way, and even game developers are coming together to make some complaints about the demonic dungeon crawler. We all expect a bit of friendly competition, but someone took it too far for Blizzard's boss.
Bungie developer calls Diablo 4's scaling 'lazy'

Drama. Reacting to the level scaling that is present in Diablo 4, Bungie developer Chad Jessup has criticised the concept as a whole, using Diablo 4 as a jumping-off point.
"Diablo IV seals it, enemy scaling is one of the worst ideas in video games," he says in a tweet. "It's lazy, negates several play styles, ruins player power trips, and just sucks." In the now-deleted tweet, he added, "Never heard of someone liking that type of system."
It's easy to cast this off as mere baseless criticism, but as he claims that he's been singing the game's praises since it launched, he clearly doesn't mean it that way. Whatever Jessup's sentiment was, he seems to have caught the attention of the Diablo devs themselves.
Diablo devs react to Jessup's comments

Spotting the negativity, one Diablo developer has responded to the tweet with a pretty succinct tweet that appears to have made Jessup feel a little sheepish. "Lazy, huh," says Mike Ybarra in a response. The Diablo 4's fans were also presumably angrier than Lilith because it looks like there's been a backlash.
Jessup later admitted that his "wording could have been better," but has since deleted the tweet and set his account to private. Oof. It's pretty rough for a dev to be caught out like this, and it certainly isn't a good look for Jessup. Nothing like a bit of Twitter beef to liven up the whole gaming discourse.
