The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom allows you to brave the kingdom of Hyrule once more, taking on monsters above and below the land you grew familiar with in Breath of the Wild.

So, you'll probably want to know how to get more hearts in Tears of the Kingdom, especially before you begin adventuring into the far corners of the map present in the game to hunt down its many Shrines. Follow our rundown below to learn how.

How do you increase your hearts and stamina?

During your adventures in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll undoubtedly be taking some time out to explore the multiple Shrines, like those in Great Sky Island, littered above and across the land.

Each Shrine offers a unique puzzle or trial, often utilizing different aspects of your new abilities. This could include a specific weapon or runic ability that you will need to master.

If you want to know how to get more hearts in Tears of the Kingdom, you'll want to clear shrines. The reward for clearing shrines is a Light of Blessing item. Similar to the Spirit Orbs in Breath of the Wild, The Lights of Blessing can be exchanged for a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.

However, each of these costs four Lights of Blessing, so you will need to clear a lot of shrines to start feeling the benefit.

Where do you increase hearts and stamina?

To get more hearts in Tears of the Kingdom, you'll need to use your Lights of Blessing and exchange them in specific places. Much like Breath of the Wild, you will need to pray at a Statue of the Goddess, and it will give you the option to choose between a Heart Container or a Stamina Vessel.

  • The Goddess Statues can often be found in major settlement areas. The first is unmissable and you'll find it in the Temple of Time.
  • Others, for example, one can be found after descending the ladder in Lookout Landing to get to the Emergency Shelter.
